Life still goes on but for the
time being It has lost some of Its
buoyancy. Reason: one guess? We
won't bo taking a trio to Eugene
when the Honkers go to state for
the simple reason they won't be
a-goin'. But, nevertheless, we're
sure proud of our boys!
The showing . they made against
the winning Madras team was very
creditable for that clean-playing,
highly Inspired quintet of
White Buffaloes, seemed unbeat
able. It was Mudras's first con
ference title win in 34 years last
Saturday at Prlneville and it was
so decisive and so expertly won
that no one begrudged them their
victory.
But each of the four teams par
ticipating: Madras, Burns, Red
mond and Lakeview, vying for
this district title, all apparently
had the same pre-conference feel
ing before the filial play-off
that since all teams were so even
according1 to the season's record,
it was entirely human, feasible and
logical for. Uiem to think its group
might be the lucky ones to get
the breaks and capture that el
luslve title. Madras got no breaks
they won!
Now we. shall relax a bit until
track season starts then we'll be
out with the boys again upon that
ever stimulating field of individual
competitive sport.-

A very pleasant social hour or

regular ballroom dancing and lolk

Then in another .heat after a

Mrs. Laura Newton, on tne piano

out some catchy old folk-dance
tunes that put a long string of cou
