Illene Ongman as best cowgirl and Ernest Wallin as best cowboy. Gus Vlahos was head chow-cook on the chuck wagon; Ernest Wal lin, Ray Grams, William Fink and tverett Blelin assisting. The din ing room was decdrated with hatch ets, cherry trees and etc. The men are to be commended for a "smash" ending for an en joyable evening. Pinochle Club MACDOFL At the two recent sessions ol the Winter Pinochle Club the Howard Myers and Uie Carl Gareys were hosts. At the Garey party, Mrs. Jim Wliltt and Arnold Criss' held high scores:' and Mrs. Jim Butler and Howard Myers were low. Myers won the traveling prize. Those holding high scores for the evening of play at the Myers' were Mrs. Jim Whitt and Howard Myers. Low scores were held by Mrs. Wil- Ired Dixon and Had Noakes. Amaranth Court The theme of the monthly meet ing of Amaranth Court held Feb ruary 17 was a -'Welcome Home" for Beatrice Dcnison, royal matron who presided after a forced ab sence due to a sclge of polio. She is making a remarkable re covery and thanked everyone for Uie help given ner. Earl Becson, former royal pa tron of Oregon and his wife, from Eugene were in attendance. During a recess of the court the members enjoyed a clever carica ture of a Masonlo meeting present ed by a group of Merrill ladies. This was the 15th birthday of this court and the past royal matrons and patrons served refreshments after the meeting, and each mem ber had an Individual lighted birth day cake. E. Trotman and Mrs. R. E. West were at the tea and cof fee service from 4 to 5, and Mrs. Harriet Fotheringham and Mr3. Delia Hodges poured during the final hour. Mrs. Lillian Thomas was the ac companist for Carol Poe'a vocal solo, and also for' a vocal duet by Carol Poe and Yvonne Conner. .
