Laki Com munity Church Sunday evening, February 28, at 8 p.m. From scrap humanity to usable steel Is the theme of the film, which relates the life story of Ar thur Hawkins, a business execu tive with United Slates Steel Corp. His life Is traced through his downfall and struggles on the road back to sell-respect and usefulness. The film stars Porter Hall and Is produced by Orcat Commis sion Films of Hollywood. Klamath Lutheran Announces Schedule "of Lenten 'Services The Rev. Kent Spaulding, minis ter at the Klamath Lutheran Church, has announced the sched ule for the special Lenten serv ices which will be conducted each Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the church. Topic for the season is "The Seven Last Words." Specific topics are as follows; Malin Ladies Aid Has Social Meeting The Ladies Aid of the Malin Community Presbyterian Church met for its regular social meeting. Thursday, February 18, In the church parlors. Mrs. George Smalley opened the meeting with the Scripture reading Bphesians '6:10-18, followed by a very enlightening commentary on nre.it men born in the month of February. Guest speaker was Mrs. Marvis Keyser of Tulelake, who gave a most interesting book review of Roland Balnton's autobiography of Martin Luther. Mrs. Keyser de scribed Martin Luther as a man "afire with God," and iniormed the group that there is a motion picture ot this book which has been banned In some localities, but is well worth seeing. She ad vised everyone to make an effort to see lt if at all possible. Mrs. Keyser closed her review with the statement that one great man closely In sympathy with the views of Martin Luther was Jo- hann Sebastian Bach. Bach's "Take My Lite and Let It Be," was sung by Mrs. Art Roblson and Mrs. E, L. Cunningham. At the close of the meeting, Mrs. Hab Wilson read an original poem entitled "Emma Elizabeth is '39' Today," which was followed by all singing happy birthday to Mrs. Emma Wilson, the recipient of basket of gilts from members present. Mrs. Wilson Is a most faithful and long-time member of !he group: the poem told of all the quilts she had tied and her other work. . Refreshments were aerved by the hostesses, Mrs. A. E.
