WASHINGTON m Rep. W. Ster ling Cole (R-NY) said today It will be "quite some time'! probably over two months before Congress can act on President Elsenhower's proposal to give this nation's allies more atomic defense information. Cole,, chairman, of the Senate House Atomic Energy Committee, said the group, now is closely studying proposed legislation for warded by the 'administration. The resident requested, in special Feb. 17 message, authority lo exchange with America's allies essential to the development of de lense plans and to the training of personnel for atomic warfare." Cole said in an interview the committee would Introduce a bill after it decides On a version it considers satisfactory. He added the committee mea; tire might not be ready until mid April. The committee is following the same procedure, he said, on the President's second main proposal, to permit private Industry to oper ate nuclear facilities and deal In fissionable material as a means of encouraging the development of private power from atomlo energy. Committee members generally have expressed, support for the nil of them have stressed the com plexity of legislation needed to car ry it out. The problem in releasing more atomic Information to Allied na tions, they say, Is to make sure no loopholes are opened for es pionage. . ' The release put the cost of an American F84 at about $230,000. The Air Force, which went over the MIG15 with a fine tooth comb before reassembling It here, cited some "deficiencies" in . comparing the MIG with the F86 it battled for many months in Korea. The MIG has a lower maximum speed, they said, insufficient stall warning and poor cockpit comfort. The heating and ventilation Is poor. The cockpit is all right for a small man, but a large man would have difficulty flying. The plane saw combat service in Korea. It was made some time in 1951, the Air Force said.
