Co-owners will be Vera Rutquist, known to Klamath Falls candy lovers as the originator of "Our Own Make," at the Pel ican Candy Jar, and Sue Clark of Seattle. Mrs. Rutquist has had years of experience in candy making, both in the United States and Hawaii and has been in Klamath Falls for two years. Opening hour in the attractive new store will be 9 a.m. Candy favors will be given and the public is invited for the grand opening, The new business will be known as "Vera's" Own-Make Candy and Nuts. Cub Scout Pack No. 73 Gets Awards BY MRS. ALEXANDER LUFT Music was in the air when the "Musical Show" theme went Into action at the Riverside PTA Cub Scout Pack 73 meeting, Friday, January 38, at the YMCA. Mrs. Leonard Bhlll's Den 1 Cubs presented a quintet that sang thru Cub Scout congs accompanied by their homemade musical instru ments. Mrs. Alexander .Luffs Den 2 Cubs, conducted a "Shake the Maracas" contest accompanied by their kitchen band and presented two magic tricks. Mrs. Lloyd Pepple's Den 1 Cubs' presentation was a puppet conver sation that!' Introduced the "Den 3 Bob Cats,'' a band of homemade,! musical instruments, mat were Teal "hep." Mrs. Irvln Warner's Den 4 Cubs came on with a Chinese fanfare, played on a home made single string instrument, followed by a Chinese puppet show. The flag ceremony was led by Ucn 3 Cubs. Art Classes To Start At YMCA The Klamath Art Associa tion's spring workshop with classes in sketching, textile painting and jewelry making, will begin Tues day evening, February 4, at the YMCA. The classes will be con ducted each Tuesday evening for elx weeks and all interested persons ere urged to attend. The nominal fee of S5.00 charged also offers 'a years' membership into the Klam ath Art Association. Special instruction will be given beginners in Uie study oi weir choice.
