The Gilchrist Parents and Tea
chers Oroup met at the Gilchrist
School Tuesday evening, Oct. 13.
Preceding the business meeting,
Dr. Boyd Bprague and Dr. Brook
shire, dentists from Klamath Falls,
talked to the group on preventive
denistry and the care of teeth from
childhood on. Dr. Sprague stressed
the need for proper nutrition and
gave his views on relation of re
lined foods to the modern denistry
problems.
Dr. Brooksnire gave a demon
stration on the proper way to brush
and care of teetn.
Followlnff the dental lectures, a
discussion was held In which both
doctors answered the many ques
tions asked by the group,-
The business meeting tallowed
with plans for a project on which
to spend the present balance of
the treasury now Instead of waiting
until next year. Reports lrom the
various committee chairmen were
made. The Ways and Means chair
man, Mrs. Norman Whitfield, re
ported a very successful recent
rummage sale.
First and second grade mothers
were hostesses for the evening.

3 tablespoons hot water
6 tablespoons softened butter
or margarine.
Prepare cake mix as directed on
packaje, Bake in 13x9x2-inch pan;
then cool.
Melt chocolate; add butter, a ta
blespoons at a time, beating thor
oughly alter each addition. Let
stand a few minutes until thick
enough to spread, stirring occa
sionally. Cut cake in half; then split each
half, making four layers. Spread
the frostine between each layer

1 20-os. package yellow cake

Vi cup water
1 teaspoon grated orange rind
3 eggs.
2 cup orange juice
Empty contents of package into
large bowl. Add water and orange
rind. Blend. Then beat two min
utes at medium speed of electrie
mixer or 300 vigorous strokes by
hand. (Scrape batter from bowl
end beater or spoon often). Add
reps, blend, and beat one minute
at medium speed of mixer or 160
strokes by hand. Add orange juice
