Elsenhower Friday signed legisla
tion setting up separate commis
sions (1) to study reorganization
ol the federal government nnd (2)
to survey overlapping (unctions of
state and federal governments.
The reorganization grouo Is sim
ilar to. the commission which
served under former president
Hoover In drafting plans for over
hauling government agencies. If
will have 12 members, four each
tn be named by the President, the
speaker of the House and the pre'
siding officer of the Senate.
The new group will have a
broader field of study than the
Hoover Commission, which Was set
up in 1947 and functioned for about
two years. For one thing, the new
cmmtsslon will be directed to
look into federal activities In com
petition with private enterprise.
The commission on inter-govern'
mental relations will look Into dup
lication of federal and state taxa
tion and the proper role of the
federal, government generally In
relation to stato and local govern
ments. It will have 25 members. Of
these, the President will pick IS,
and five each will be named by the
House and Senate. - ,
Th President's choices will In
clude no more than nine from one
party. The Senate and House will
name three each from the Repub
lican Party and two Democrats.

Coast Hop Control Board decided
Thursday that since It was out of
business it might as well sell its
equipment.
A vote of growers scrapped a
federal hop marketing agreement
June 30, and put the board out of
business. ,
A liquidation committee here ap
proved sale of the equipment and
recommended that the 2b,000 to
130,000 remaining In surplus funds
be distributed to handlers and deal
ers who contributed 1052 crop
assessments.

Joins Boy's Hunt
' ALBANY, Ore. 11 A sheriff's
posse joined Friday In the search
for a 13-year-old boy who has been
missing In the timbered Cascades
50 miles east of here since Wed
nesday evening.
The missing boy Is Roy John
Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy
Nelson, Jennings Lodge, ore.
He was barefoot and was wear
ing a light shirt and Jeans when he
became separated from other
members of his family on a fish
ing trip along Seven Mile Creek.
A score of men Searched Thurs
day without any sign of the boy
and a greatly increased number of
men went out Friday.

This fellow Stewart is probably
making more money from movies
than anv other actor, thanks to
his deals for 50 per cent of his
films' profits. And he shows no
