Catholic Schools
May Lose Texts
PORTLAND Wl Most Catholic
schools in Oregon apparently will
not be eligible next fall for the free
textbooks they have been getting
under Oregon law.
Catholic school heads explained
that most parish schools will have
to Ignore the state standards on
student-teacher ratio. They said a
big increase In students is coming
up.
The state standards alms at not
more than 25 - 30 students per
teacher. The archdiocese ratio will
be not more than 4540 pupils per
teacher.
Failure to meet the state stand
ard means that parents will have
to provide the textbooks for
students in parochial schools.

In the future, every car in our stock bearing the . ;
Safety-Tested seal will be sold with a 100 Guarantee
covering mechanical parts.
We believe that the buyer who spends upwards of

every car bearing this Safety Tested seal is thoroughly
reconditioned, and a complete record of the condition is
furnished.
Motors are overhauled, brakes relined, steering re
