Catherine Blan'as Claimed as Bride Of Wilber D. Elliott Jr., June 14 Many of the host of friends who attended the wedding of Catherine Blanas to Wilber D. Elliott Jr., June 14, wit nessed their first Greek Orthodox service, because Catherine wanted to be married in her home town with local friends present. ' Since there is no church of her faith here, she and her family made arrangements with the Rev. Galen H. Onstad, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, to have Father Samaris, of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Chirch in Portland, read the service at St. Paul's. It is the first Greek Orthodox marriage to be solemnised in Klamath Falls. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George S. Blanas, 1036 Eldorado: and the bridegroom L, the sen of Mr, end Mr, W, Dexter Elliott, 1240 Monclaire. Catherine was given in marriage by her father; and just prior to the 4:30 P.m. rites, a large silver tray holding two orange blossom wreaths joined with a length of satin ribbon: the two wedding rlnes on a white satin pillow: two lighted candles; and a sprinkling of white candy-coated Jordan al monds: was placed on a table near the altar by George Vlahos, cousin of the bride. The almonds, blessed by the priest, are symbolic of the couple's future happiness and prosperity. The candles were handed to the betrothed by Father Samaris, and the bride's godfather. Bill Brochls placed the ribbon-Joined crowns on Catherine's and Wilber's heads. Koliopoulos. The Chantllly lace in solid applique on the many yards of heavy satin in the skirt and train outlined a wide border of creamy satin at the hemline. Her fingertip veil of net was gathered to a pearl-trlmined crown of tulle. Phaelenopsls orchids centered a lacy net heart. Pink and white gladioli were used for the effective lioral arrangements in the church: and formed a beautiful background for the pale green taffeta frocks worn by her four attendants. All the dresses were made exactly alike; with fitted bodices, sleeves gathered below the elbow; and ex tremely full skirt) sweeping the floor. They were worn with match ing stoles and satin headbands with a cluster of ribbon at the side. Maid of honor, Kathcrine Nekas. carried a bouquet of baby orchids and pink sweetheart roses; as did bridesmaids. Marilyn Hemingsen, Rosemary Murray and Jean Hen derson. Marie Obenchain was or ganist. Flower girl was Mary Bro chls, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Brochis. 219 Martin. She wore while net over yellow taffeta; rib- bon trimmed, with very full ankle length skirt and pulf sleeves. Her net hearts edged with dainty lace held white candy coated almonds, Janette Vlahos, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Vlahos: and Judy Paddock, daughter of Mr. end Mrs. Clvde Paddock, nre&ented one tolPnrtlanH- Mr. and Mr.s. Both carried the favors in white baskets trimmed with pink ribbons, v Bill Brochis, godfather of the bride, was official Greek Orthodox attendant to the bridegroom; Dick Petzoldt was honorary best man; and ushers were George Vlahos, Donald Peterson and David Hum phrey. Mrs. Blanas, mother of the bride, was charming in a light turquois taffeta; sheath type, with dark tur quoise pouffe on one side and a brush train. She wore a white or chid shoulder corsage. Mrs. Elliott, mother of the bride groom, was attractive in a floor length ashes of roses dross with matching lace bodice and hip de tail oh the full chiffon skirt. She wore a cymbidlum orchid corsage. The reception was in the Willard Hotel Ballroom, where tables sparkling with glassware and sil ver were colorful with a wide vari ety of exotic Greek and domestic delicacies. The bride's cake, a large cross at the base, was cen tered with round tiers of the same confection and topped with hand some white wedding bells. Mrs. Kenneth Stretch and Carol Rutherford poured; Mrs. Gus Vla hos and Mrs. Cleta Paddock cut the cake; Mary Barkes, Barbara Swan son. Athena Lampropulos and De lores Kidder assisted: and Ruby Ann Johnson registered the guests. For travel. Catherine wore a pencil line black skirt, blue poodle cloth Jacket, trimmed with black, black patent accessories and a white hat. She wore an orchid cor sage: and her pearl necklace and matching earrings, were a gift from the bridegroom's father. E. McCrary, Salem, June 14, Vows were exchanged in a 2 p.m. service read by the Rev. Galen Onstad in St. Paul's Episcopal Church. The ceremony was witnessed by a large gathering of invited friends and relatives. Escorted by her father, who gave her in marriage, the bride wore a gown of white tulle over satin, styled with a full oversklrt and a chapel train. Especially lovely was the veil of imported Chantllly lace held with a seed pearl crown, A shorter veil of il lusion net was worn over the bride's face as she walked down the aisle to the chancel rail. The long lace veil extended into the train on the gown, and had been worn by the bride's mother at her own wedding. Mary Louise carried a bouquet of stcphanotis centered with a white orchid and tied with satin streamers. Maid of honor, Carol Alderson, BPW Installs Officers in Merrill On 17th MERRILL Mrs. Edna Albrccht of Klamath Falls was in charge when Merrill Business and Pro fessional Women's Club installed new officers June 17, at the Pres byterian Church social parlor. Lillian Thomas is the president, Audrey Lewis, 1st vice president; Myrtle Beasley, 2nd vice president; Kathleen Brlckner, recording sec retary; Helen Brumley, corres ponding secretary; and Bessie West, treasurer. Following dinner, which was served by the American Legion Auxiliary, a musical program was presented. 'Mrs. Mamie Oiacominl played a piano solo, and Vclma Fox sang. Members of the Klamath Falls Business and Professional Wom en's Club presented the emblem ceremony, and Mrs. Albrecht gave the evening's address. The four bridesmaids wore dresses Identical to the maid of honor's, except for color. Beverly Folston and Janet Sturges, both of Portland, wore pink, and car ried crescent shaped bouquets of yellow daisies. Robin vandcr Grlend, Lynden, Wash., and Vir ginia Sorton, Tulare, Calif., wore turquoise frocks and carried the same shaped bouquets of pink daisies. Flower girl was pretty little Nancy - Jo NegrcvskI, four year old daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John Ncgrevski. Best man was Granville Perkins, Yakima, Wash., and ushers were Donald Pope, Merrill: Bruce Lin kous, Bakcrsficld; Richard Hill and Wilbur Harnsbargcr, Henley. Mrs. Sam Mu-shen, organist, accom panied Mrs; Earl Sheridan, soloist. Mrs. Poole chose a charming floor length dress of rose lace and chiffon for her daughter's wed ding, and she wore a corsage of orchids and stcphanotis. Mrs. Mc Crary, mother of the bridegroom, wore peach lace over taffeta, floor length, and her corsage was of deep red roses. For travel.-Mary Louise wore a navy blue suit accented with white pique collar, and blue and white accessories.
