BONANZA WOMENS CLUB BONANZA The Bonama Wom en's Club held their annual Christ mas party at the Library the eve ning of Dec. IB, with Mrs. Ishmcl Disk, Mrs, Hank Oberhelde, and Mrs. Merrill Stewart hostesses. The large room was attractive with decorations carrying out the Christ mas motif and a decorated tree with gifts. Following an evening of cards the members held Uiclr gift exchange. Mra. John Brown ,won high for pinochle, Mrs. Rudolph Malpert high for canasta and Mra, Birdie Bulk, high In bridge. On (Saturday evening, the C. I. Clubhouae was the ncune ol a Jolly parly, when member ol the organization were hostesses to their husbands and lamlllea at tha annual C'hrlatmaa party, the com munity being also Invited this year. A bountiful polluck dinner was enjoyed at 7:3'l, all arrangement lor kitchen and dining room being In charge ol Mra. Harold Wlmcr and Mra. Frank Edwards. This waa ollowed by reports by the presi dent, secretary and treasurer ol the club, Mrs. Harold Wlmer, Mrs. Uerl Gray and Mrs. William A. Page, after which the highlight ol the evening came with tbe gill exchange. In chaige of this lealure of the entertainment were Mrs. Joanna Taylor and Mrs. William A. Page, who distributed gilts from a gayly lighted trimmed Christmas tree. Each person present received Christmas package In bright holi day wrappings. Hounding out the enjoyable aflair, an Informal hour was spent In carol singing, cards and neighborly visiting by the crowd. i Sunday evening, the anticipated community Christmas tree and pro- gram . held In the Fori Klein- grade school children, the church and Civic Improvement Club co operating In arrangements and program presentation. Following the Invocation by Rev. C. tilery Echlln, pastor of the local church, the evenlng'a enter tainment wsa opened by "The Christmas Spirit," portrayed by members ol the Junior Methodist Youth Fellowship group. Used In the nativity scene were hand made wooden figures created especially for the play, each one having been turned on a lathe by Richard H. Wilson, the laces painted by Mrs, Lloyd Nicholson, costuming done by Mrs. Richard Wilson and email daughter Janet, with Mrs. Wilson also playing In cidental piano music for the num ber. Directing the children and making all detailed arrangements were Mrs. H. T. Williams, leader of the Junior group, and Mrs. Lloyd Nicholson, who Is teacher of the primary Sunday school class here. Second, was "The Why of Christ mas," the lust of two Yuletlde skits presented under the direction of Mrs. Frank Strahan, local ele mentary grade school teacher. Par ticipating in this number were Darla Dee Brewer, Barbara Nicholson. Dick Veatch end Doug las Van Wormer, all pupils of Mrs. Strahan. The second was "The Vision of the Brownies," In which all of Mrs. Strahan's pupils took part. Coming here under sponsorship ot the C. E. Club. This committee worked In cooperation with the local school, church and Sunday School, to muke the affair an outstanding success, A beautiful sight along the street In Fort Klamath is the 30-foot com munity Christmas tree which was cut and set up last Saturday in front of the clubhouse by Edward (Bud) Strong, adding greatly tc the holiday atmosphere in Fort Klamath.
