Eckley-Miller Vows Said In November 8th Ceremony The Reverend Daniel Anderson, pastor of Klamath Tem ple, read the 3 p.m. double-ring service, Nov. 8, in the First Methodist Church, uniting Patsy Ruth Miller and Ormand W. Eckley in marriage. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Miller, 1755 Crescent Avenue; and Eckley is the son of Mrs. William Bishop, Willow Ranch, Calif. Mrs. Arthur Dennison, organist, played incidental wedding music, and accompanied vocalist Peter Ormand, who sang "O Perfect, Love" and "Because," before the ceremony, r and "The Lord's Prayer" during the service. The bride was escorted by htr Tather to u altar flanked with beauty vases of white chrysanthe mums and huckleberry, before a background ot woodwardia fern. Lighted tapers illuminated the Li- lar decorations and white satin bows marked the pews. . The bride was dressed In a white faun gown styled with a nylon lace yoke, long sleeves, peter p&n collar, and a full skirt with a long train. Her finjeitip veil of nyion net was held by a Juliet cap trimmed with orange blossoms, Her bouquet was of Talisman roses with matching streamers, Matron of honor was Mrs.. Cal vin V. Simms. Portland, sister-in-law of the bride. She wore a deep blue faille dress with off the shoui ' dor neckline, ballerina length, and her nalr bandeau was of pink pom pon chrysanthemums. She carried a Colonial bouquet of pompon chry santhemums. Bridesmaids were Marlee Nich ol. Longvlew. Wash., and Amy Cornwall, Klamath Falls. They wore dresses patterned after the Matron of honor's in rose-pink, rheir headbands were blue and they also carried Colonial bouquets. Flower girl, Starla Simms, niece of the bride, wore a yellow floor length frock with bertha collar. She wore matching flowers' In her iair and carried a basket of pink lose petals. Ring bearer. Billy Bisn 5p. nephew of the bridegroom, car ried the rings' on a white satin pil low. Best man, L. Robert Jones. Lake riew. was a classmate of the sride and bridegroom at OTI. Ushers were Calvin V. Simms and C. M. Bishop. William E. John inn, friend of the family, was hon jrary usher. Nieces of the bride were candle-1 lighters. Linda Lee Simms and Luna Lou Simms, Toketee Falls, mey wore pastel frocks and car ried candles centered in a colonial arrangement with white bows. Mrs. Miller wore a champagne silk (rock, with black accessories, and her corsage was of Talisman The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. : Bishop, wore a marine-blue suk ju'1. w"n red accessories and a i shoulder corsage of red roses, The reception was In the church ; parlors immediately following the ceremony. She placed the women of Influence In several categories the Indian women, many of whom were mar ried to white men. the wives of missionaries and those who came w-eslward merely for conquest and gave many interesting side lights on the outstanding women In these groups. She stressed that these w o m e were Imbued with patriotism and the desire for edu cation. Bhe concluded her talk by stating that there Is no accurate way of measuring the contributions of women In the history of Oregon. Mrs. Stone Is a teacher of Social Studies at Fremont Junior High School and Is co-author of a history textbook used In the Oregon schools.
