JOE IIALOl'SF.K MALIN A Rally meeting for members o( Malm's Ground Ob server Corp.. was held at the Malin Fire Hall Tuesday evening, Nov. 18. Sgt. John H. Bridges. Portland, representing the Air Defense com mand, gave the group a "pep talk" as Wallace Reed. Klamath County's GOC Coordinator, so apt ly called it when- introducing the Sergeant. , Sgt. Bridges congratulated the Malin group for organizing and maintaining such a fine post and thanked them for the service they re giving to their country. He add- ' ed that Civilian Ground Observa tion is still vitally essential and Uiat there should be no let up. In his experience, he said, of serving t both the Filter Center and Ra dar Center he has seen it proven that Civilian 6ky Watch has been : most useful In tracing flights of aircraft. Wallace Reed spoke briefly to the group and said that he hoped aeon to have a direct telephone line to GOC Posts, so as to make communication more convenient. He replaces Ivan Ottoman The pictures, which were to nave ! been shown at this meeting, were not available but Mr. Reed prom ised the members that toey will be shown in Malin soon. Arnold Gralapp who said it would be added to the film library of the audio-visual education depart ment lor use not only by schools but also by outside groups. Running time for the film is 30 minutes. It depicts Oregon under survey by a legendary pioneer who returns each year from the Lewis and Clark Expedition to see how the Oregon Trail is faring. The sur vey covers everything from farm ing to mining to lumbering and fishing, and left many Kiwanians a little surprised at what Oregon has to offer.
