A little over 1,000 had already been turned into the fund, accord ing to Fund Trustee Alice Vitus, and that makes almost enough to cover the cost of the iron lung being ordered. The fund -was established in the memory of 20-year-old George G. Adler, son of Dr. and Mrs. George Adler, who died of polio In an iron lung In Eugene's Sacred Heart Hospital Sept. 27. Guernsey Sale Brings Cash Lively bidding saw the Southern Oregon Guernsey Sale run up a total of $11,460 in receipts for 30 head, including a topper of the sale which brought S700. The auction, thud of its kind in this area, was held at the Klam ath County Fairgrounds auction arena, and brought an average of S394.82 per head. Last year's sale, held in Medlord. brought $427. Auctioneer Earl Walter. Filer, Ida., said some auctions in other areas have been down as far as 70 per cent under previous sales. Wilson Lee Allen Jr., Hena. pur chased Falrview T. A. Dew. a two year-old cow consigned by Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hobson, Merrill, for S700 to top the sale. Former Local Man Dies Word has been received here of the death of a former Klamath Falls resident, Edward Frank Mul ler. 32. recently of Myrtle Creek. Ore. Mullrr suffered a fractured skull In a highway accident Oct. It. 11 p.m.. and died Oct. II, In the Veterans hospital In Portland. Mullrr was a World War II vet eran and was a contract lumber leader. The family lived at Modoc Point from 1945 to 1048 and have many Iriends here. 8urvivimj are his widow Mra.
