Plead Guilty
Two Californians arrested at
Malin last week on felony charges
pleaded guilty in District Court
Saturday to a reduced charge of
disorderly conduct, and are now
serving 30-day sentences in the
County Jail.
They are Theodore Reule. 42. of
Stockton, and David H. Ennis, 42,
of Los Anceles.
Reule and Enhis originally were
charged with assault with a dan
gerous weapon, in connection with
an plleged assault on E. Lester
Tomlin. Malin hotel operator, with
a straight razor.
The charge was reduced to a
m'sdemeanor and the men pleaded
guilty.

Klamath Visit
Robert Y. Thornton of Tillamook
is here today, winding up the Klam
ath County part of his campaign
for attorney general.
He is the Democratic nominee,
and is opposing John B. McCourt
ot pcitiana, Kepuoucan. me in
cumbent, George Neuuer of oak-m,
is not seeking re-election.
Thornton spoke last aignt before
a gathering of Demo precinct work
ers. Tomorrow he is to speak at
Southern Oregon College, Ashland,
and he said he would not be able
to get back to Klamath Falls be
fore the election.
Thornton is. a graduate of Stan
ford University, and did law work
at Oregon and George Washington.
He was elected to the state legis
lature Irom lillamook in UoO.
In his talk here ' last night, he
discussed the duty of the attorney
general to prepaie ballot titles in
clearer and more understandable
terms, which he called "one of the
most important services ihe attor
ney general can render." .
He also took note of the fact that
Oregon hasn't had a Democratic
attorney general for 60 ye3rs, and
said that if the people can call
for a change in the national t.d
ministration after 20 years, they
might take note of the length the
Republicans have had the attor
ney generalship in Oregon.
