Carmody, of that city, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Mary Anne, to Donald M. Megale, son of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Megale, Coos Bay. The bride-elect is a graduate of Lake view High School and has attended Oregon State Col lege for the past two years. Megale is a senior at the same college. He is remembered here as a tennis instructor at Moore Park last summer, and his participation in the tennis tourna ments sponsored by the Herald and News. PAUL'S White and shades of pale to darker blue delphinium was the striking color scheme chosen for the beautiful wedding of Jean Marian Hilton, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. James M. Hilton, 435 Hillside, to John (Jack) Raymond Eit treim, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Eittreim, 2012 Main Street The Rev. Galen Onstad read the 8 p.m. service in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Aug. 24, before a large gather ing of friends and relatives. The lovely bride was escorted down the aisle by her father, who gave her in marriage. The pews were marked with arrangements of white gladioli, pompon chrysanthe mums and greenery. The same type flowers were banked at either side of the altar, illuminated by tall lighted tapers in floor candelabra. Radiant In all white, the bride's town was of chantilly lace over taffeta, floor length with full court train. The bodice neckline was boat shaped and medallion edged. The long fitted sleeves were point ed over the hands. Her fingertip veil of illusion net was edged in the came Chantilly lace as the dress and the crown of lace was pearl trimmed. She carried a bou quet of white roses and stephanotis. Her only Jewelry was a single strand of pearls. The sixpence worn in her shoe was given her by Mrs. T. D. Case. Maid of honor, Ruth Landry, friend from pre-school days, wore a ballerina length dress with a fuU nylon tulle skirt, white lace bodice with three-quarter sleeves and a boat neckline. She wore a single strand pearl choker, matching the bride's, and her cap of deep blue delphinium blossoms matched her bouquet. Bridesmaids, all ex-schoolmates of the bride's, Joanne Bennet. Mary Recent Bride Feted at Shower MERRILL Mrs. Ted Mahoney, the former Carol Winter, whose marriage was an event of August 14, was honored with a post-nuptial shower, when a group of friends entertained for her Friday eve ning, August 22, in the recreation hall. Hostesses were Mrs. Paul Lewis, Mrs. Roscoe Barkhurst, Mrs. Dean Karrer, Mrs. John Tur ner, Mrs. Ben Wolfram, Mrs. MUt on Loper, and Darlene Turner. Golden-haired Helen Dianne Ber telson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bertelson. Lacuna Beach. was flower girl. She is the bride's cousin. Her frock carried out the color scheme used throughout the wedding. Willis (Mike) Eittreim attended his brother as best man; ushers were Harold Eittreim, also brother of the bridegroom: Bob Barnes, Robert Rigss and Richard Hilton, brother of the bride. Mrs. Hilton, mother of the bride was charming in a floor length dress of powder blue nylon net with pink accessories and her corsage was of pink gladioli. Mother ot the bridegroom. Flowers were the same type as used in the church and the tiered wedding cake was surrounded at the base with blue delphinium. Pouring were Mrs. Allen H. Fox. aunt of the bride and Mrs. Buford Hargus (Dorothy Collier). Mrs. Arthur Bertelson. cousin of the bride, cut the cake, assisted by Mrs. Irvin Whitt (Connie Hunt). Barbara Osborn and Nancy Kuhn- hausen'were at the punch howl. 2-or tne wedding trip to Lake Tahoe and points in California and Nevada, Jean wore a smart black and red tweed suit with black vel vet accessories and she wore as a corsage roses from her bridal bouquet. They will make their home in Eugene where Jack will continue his studies at the University of Ore gon. Jean was graduated from the University of Oregon in 1951, where she was affiliated with Alpha Omi cron PI sorority. Dorothy Saunders, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Saunders, became the bride of Lloyd W. Fields, son of Mrs. Blanche Fields, the double ting ceremony was held Saturday, August 9, at two o'clock In the afternoon at the Malin Community Church, with the Rev. George Shuman officiating. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a ballerina length dress of blue lace and nylon net. With it she wore a small white satin hat and car ried a single white orchid on her white Rainbow Bible. Mrs. Lorene Bauer, sister of the bride, was matron of honor and her dress of pink nylon, with pink accessories. She carried a bouquet of white gardenias, baby gladioli and stephanotis. The wedding march was played by Sandra Fields, sister of the bridegroom. Andy Fields, served as his broth er's best man. Mrs. Saunders chose for her daughter's wedding, a dress of navy blue with navy blue acces sories. The bridegroom's mother wore pink with white acccssoreis. Following the wedding, a recep tion was held in the yard at the home of Mr, and Mrs. George Bauer. After the wedding cake had been cut by the new bride and bride groom, it was served by Bertha McKoen. Sally Smalley presided at the punch bowl. In charge of the guest book was Dena Fields, an other sister of the bridegroom. Her bouquet was ol talisman roses and white carna tions, and In her hair she wore a halo headpiece of white carna tions. Her only Jewelry was an heir loom cameo brooch belonging to her mother.
