board of trade Tuesday but wheat
failed to make much progress.
A lower than expected estimate
of soybean and oat production bv
the government caused beans to
lump as much a 6 cents at the
opening and gave feed grains a
firm to strong tone.

sorbed, especially in beans.
Holland took two cargoes of U. S.
hard wheat, which had a steadying
effect on that grain.

District Attorney Frank Alderaon
said today he had decided not to
tile a rape charge,-against Patrick
Muutn. 94, who is currently serv
ing a 30-dny valiancy salience to
the City Jail.
A 17-year-old grl escapee from
a' state mental Institution had ac
cused Mullen of raping her last
Thursday night.
Alderson said there was insuf
ficient evidence to press a felony
charge against Mullen. He denied
attacking the girl, but admitted
meeting her at the bus depot
Thursday afternoon and buying her
a meal.
The girl claimed she and Mullen
went Tor a walk Thursday night
and that they stopped alongside a
railroad spur oil S. 6th above
Spring Street. It was there, she
said, he attacked her.
The girl had escaped from the
Falrvlew Home near Salem and
made her way to Klamath Falls.
