Army nurse during World War I ,and the first woman veteran to Join the Legion in Klamatii Falls ' and Martha Hurd, Army Medical Corps, first World War n woman veteran to Join the Legion. Presentation ot ' large flags to Wlncma Post, one of three Im portant events, was on the dinner program. Presentation was By past Commander Kay gammons who organized the post and served as the first commander. Presentation of the temporary and permanent charters were the other important events. The post, organized In the spring ot 1950 now has 33 active members. Women Legionnaires are orr ganizing the XVs which will be the fun organization of the unit, simi lar to the 40 et to the Legion naires. Only women Legion Bm em bers who have faithfully served their posts and communities for a one year period and have been ' members of the Legion for two years are eligible to membership. Blshon. son or Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Bishop, Portland, in a double ring cere mony in June. The Rev. E. M. Causey read the 8 p.m. service in the presence ot a large gathering of friends and rela tives In a candlelight setting before an altar banked with palms and large baskets of yellow gladioli and blue Iris. Ronnie Hershberger, organist played traditional wedding music, and accompanied Hugh Davis, who sang, "Because" and "The Lord's Prayer." Given In marriage by her father, the bride wore a white slipper satin gown with lace trimmed fitted bodice, and full skirt ending in a court train. Her fingertip veil was held by a crown of satin, lace and seed pearls. Her only Jewelry was a strand of pearls, and the white Bible she carried, was centered with a white orchid. Ledema Ivie, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, wearing a powder blue net gown over taffeta. A crown net hat and mitts and a bouquet of yellow carnations and blue satin streamers, completed her ensemble. The bridesmaids both wore yel low taffeta dresses and carried nosegays of blue carnations fash ioned with yellow satin ribbon streamers. They were Sharon sh and JoNell Bailey, schoolmates of the bride. Flower girls were Linda and Glenda Storm, twin daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Storm, In blue net dresses, hats and mitts.
