AVIATION'S FIRST LADY as far as Klamath flying is concerned
is pretty Betty Gant, one of the only air search women flyers
in this pert of the country. Miss Gent, a member of the local
aviation civil defense unit performed the first flight for that
unit in reconnoitering outlying airfields in this area. She is
also assistant air designee for the state board of aeronautics.

The latter had been visiting at her
daughter's home In Ban Diego from
Texas, and came north to see her
old-lime friend, Mrs. Vaden, whom
she hadn't seen lor twenty years.
