Methodists Want Money PORTLAND Wl A proposal to raise a half-million dollars to fi nance activities of the Methodist church in the state was to be pre ' sented to the Oregon Methodist conference here Thursday. The program Includes $300,000 for the board of missions for church extension, $125,000 for the board of education, $50,000 for the Women's Society of Christian Serv ice and $47,500 for campaign ad - ministration. If approved, the campaign will be conducted in conjunction with those already approved for Wash ington and Northern Idaho. The Oregon conference, with 112 churches as members, raised and spent $1,776,594 in the year ending May 31. Treasurer Ernest Pur Vance said that was $165,004 more than the year before. Ministers received $358,774 for the year, Bishop Gerald Kennedy reported. He said that was an in crease of $30,921 over the previous year. ....
