Even Gov. Gordon Persons, in his siren-equipped limousine, is pa trolling the roads to see that offi cers carry out his orders to arrest all traffic law violators no mat ter who they are. Accompanied by a state highway patrolman, Persons traveled through 14 counties Saturday and Sunday, warning bad drivers, con gratulating careful motorists. To give the highway patrol more striking power, the governor has added 60 more men to the 265 al ready In uniform. In addition he has directed 125 liquor enforce ment agents and Public Ser vice Commission Inspectors to make arrests on the highway. The carnage tlfat shocked Ala bama motorists started with the Memorial Day holidays and con tinued almost without letup until 39 persons were dead In 12 days.
