But almost to a man, those who voted for Charles were agreed that he didnt deserve to win back the title on his lacklustre display. The bout, broadcast and telecast coast to coast, attracted a crowd of 131.599 and a gross gate of $210.- 313. Another $175,000 was added by the television-radio money. From the total, Charles and Walcott each netted about $92,000 on their 30-30 split. Metiers, Elks Notch Wins In free-scoring City Softball Men's League action last night. Metiers conked Hercules, 16-10, and the Elks edged out Basin Auto. 15-14. Metiers ran their string to three wins as against one loss. For Hercules, it was the sixth loss without a win. The Elks' win put them above the .500 mark, with three wins and two losses. Basin Auto's record still shows no victories and last night's was the fourth loss. Pitcher Gets No-Hitter HARRISBURG, Pa.
