MACHINE VS. ROULETTE Donald May, a Los Angeles
machinist, displays a machine he claims he used to beat
roulette at the gambling tables at Las Vegas, Nev. May
says the machine, which he built, is used to keep track
of which numbers have not been winning. Then, relying
on the law of averages, he bets on those numbers. He
said he and his' friends made about $50 an hour while
playing. May said his initial bets are 25 cents. He doubles
the bet after each losing wager. So far, he says, it has
worked. 4 '
