Plans were made for an overnight hike to Dodd's Hollow and also tor the Court of Honor at Henley High School April 35, at which time awards were to be presented. At the last meeting of Merrill Farents-PatroBS, April 17. a film was shown by Mr. Donahue from J. W. Kerns in Klamath Falls, on "bird life" in Klamath County. Flans were made for the pre school round-up April 25. Mrs. Homer Fields Mrs.- John Stolt, Mrs. Alfred Carleton, Mrs. C. M. Cahan, and Mrs. Lloyd Llsk were the committee in charge. At the next meeting May 15, the officers for next year will be Installed. Mrs. Tom Barry was refresh ment chairman. Mrs. Herbert Craybael former Merrill resident, now living in Madras, visited here for several days with relatives. O-tak-yue Campire Girls held a Friendship ceremonial in the recre ation hall. The group's sponsors. Mrs. Paul Lewis, Mrs. Warren Fruits, and Mrs. Roland West were invited. Other guests were Mrs. Robert Burleigh's 4th grade Blue birds, who will be Campflre Olrls next year. Ricky and Cindy, have returned from a vacation trip, which took them to El Paso, Tex., old Mexico, and San Diego, Calif. LIBRARY CLUB i The final meeting of the Library Club will be held Monday after noon 3 p.m., in the City Library Auditorium. Mrs. Loren Palmerton president. reports on the state convention of the Oregon Federation of Women's Clubs, of which the Klamath Falls Library Clua is a member. Mrs. LeRoy Carter, Mrs. Fred Hoag land and Mrs. Archie James ac companied Mrs. Palmerton to the convention which was held in the Multnomah Hotel in Portland on April 30, May 1 and 2. Theme of the convention was "Paths to Security and Freedom" which is a continuation of the pro gram of the General Federation of Women's Clubs to promote world peace through international friend ship and understanding. The Klam ath Falls "Magic Carpet" theme has carried out the same idea. Clubs from all over Oregon have sent food, clothing, seeds and bed ding overseas as one part of this program, and have contributed over S170O lor Fan American fel lowships to be awarded during the 1952-53 academic year. Some changes in the Federation were reported, including changing Klamath Falls' club from the sixth to the first district. Junior clubs were given added stature by a revision of the bylaws creating a junior council to be headed by a vice president of the federation. Klamath Falls has no junior club, but they are important in other parts of the state. The membership report showed four new clubs being added during Beta Sigma Phi Banquet The three local chapters, Zi Del ta. Kappa and Tau of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, held their annual Founders Day Banquet April 30, at Jened's. Places were laid for 53 and the tables were beautifully decorated with yellow net umbrellas holding bouquets of yellow and white daf fodils. The decorative theme was carried out in the programs and favors, cleverly designed by Phyl lis Eastburn and Shirley Otterbein. Olive Cornell, mistresses of cere monies, and advisor for Tau Chap ter, also gave the welcome ad dress to new members. Isa belle Brixner. advisor for Kappa Chapter, led the Founders Day Pledge. The remainder of the program was given by members of the three chapters. Guest speaker for the evening was Mrs. Lynn Propst. recently returned from Guam where she spent eight months with her hus band who was a member of the armed forces.
