The annual Fair is held so 4-H boys and girls may exhibit their ... year's work in cooking, sewing, knitting, homemaking. camp cook ery, crafts, lorestry and electricity. Baking contests, sewing contests "" demonstrations and judging con- tests are also scheduled. Friday evening's exhibit will be topped off with a 4-H talent show set for 7:30, and Saturday night's "" climax will be a styie show where 4-H girls model the clothing they have designed and made. . "Tex" Porter ha been named tester for the Klamath County Dairy Herd Improvement Association, and this week betan his first rounds in testing some 23 Klamath milk shed dairy herds. The Klaimth milk shed covers lan area as far south as the Yreka country, and some of the herds require two days lor testing. UP Awards Go To 13 Thirteen Oregon boy and girls will receive S100 scholarships from the Union Pacific railroad. L. J. Allen, state 4-H lender at Oregon State college, bas announced. The awards are made annually to one 4-H club m'mber in each county served by the Union Pacific. Named the Carl Haymond Gray scholarships in honor of the late UP president, Uiey are offered In seven western states to encourage outstanding young people to studv home economics and agriculture. The winners are high school iuniors and seniors, chosen on the ! bais of their 4-H club work, 'scholarship, ard school and com- mtinitv activities.
