KPJ1 6:45 Youth Service Presbyterians Plan Musical Christmas "There are two days In the church year Easter and Christmas when we should sing more than talk.' says the Rev. David Bamett, First rresoytenan minister. That policy is being broadly car ried out in the church's Christmas program; two services, Christmas Eve night and Christinas morning are to be almost entirely musical. The choir, under the direction of Andrew Loney Jr.. is programmed to do several numbers at each serv ice, with the anthems Interspersed by vocal and instrumental solos. Covenant Church Plans Julotta There win be two services held t the First Covenant church on Christmas Dy. The first Is the tra ditional "Julotta" or early morning service commencing at 6:00. Spe cial music will be given by the choir and Brent Hedberg. soloist. Pastor B T. Jacobson will speak on the subject, "Celebrating or Worship ping?" r At 10:30 o'clock a service will be conducted for the Sunday School members. Music and the message will be in keeping with Christmas. There will be no evening service. Nazarene Church Plans Services The Sunday school Christmas pro. .iu wm us presented at 7:30 to night at the Church of the Naza rene, Mrs. Verne Bpeirs has plan ned the program. Special services will be held Christmas evening as a combined NYP8 and evangelistic service. The candlelight service starts at 7 p. m. and will include a short message by the pastor and Christmas carols. Christmas Services At Merrill Church MERRILL Rev. James O'Con nor, pastor of St. Augustine's church has announced Christmas services aa follows: midnight mass at 13 o'clock; and mass at 9:30 Christmas morning. The choir un der the direction of Mrs. John Deg nan will sing at both masses. At the midnight mass an arrange ment of "Ave Maria" will be pre sented by Mrs. William Pslvey, Hel er Leeey. and Mrs. Clyde Pox. Mil dred Petrik Is the organist. An. anthem. "Angelic Choir," is the only number that Is to be re peated in the services. On the Christmas Eve program. at 11 p. m. are: "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing," "The Three Kings" and "Silent Night." Soloist Mrs. Philip Hitchcock, with an Incidental solo In the "Angelic Choir" anthem; and Harriet Mueller singing Adams' o Holy Night." Mrs. Marvin Nerseth will sing "The Birthday of a King" and Mrs. Hitchcock will sing the Incidental solo in the "Angelic Choir" anthem. Mrs. George Mclntyre will ac company the vocalists and play pre. ludes and lncidential music. Her preludes are "It Came TJpcn a Midnight Clear" (Christmas Eve and "Sheep May Safely Oraxe" (Christmas momlng). The Christmas Eve service Is to be broadcast over KFLW. Lutherans To Hold Eve Services A Holy night service of carols and candles will be held at 11 p. m. Christmas Eve at the Klamath Lutheran church. Pastor Irrin Tweet win nresent a brief meditation. "This Night." Each person will receive a candle which will be lit during the service. Sunday services will be held at regular times. The annual concert ol Sacred choral music will be heard at 5 p. m. Monday at the church by the two choirs of the church with organ, vocal duets and solos. A fireside supper luncheon win be served by Mr. and Mrs. Jack Feeb ler. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Skoe. Mr.' and Mrs. Ernest Taylor and Pastor and Mrs. Tweet. Everyone Invited To Yule Party PORT KLAMATH Everyone Is Invited to attend the annual Christ mas tree program to be held for the community in the local church to night, Friday. Several musical se lections are being arranged for the entertainment In addition to the program by local grade school pupils .under the direction of their teacher, Mrs. Frank Strahan. This will be one of the most en joyable events of the Yule tide sea son. The evening will be climaxed by the arrival of Santa Claus, who will distribute sacks of candy, fruit and nuts from the huge, decorated Christmas tree. Zion Church to Hold Christmas Services The annual children's service will be held at 7:30 p. m, Christmas Eve at the Zion Lutheran church. On Monday evening at 7:30, the annual Zion Sunday school party will be held for all children, par ents and friends. There will be a gift exchange and program. Regular services will be held Sunday. Out-of-Towners Call for Toys that City firemen today, asked people living outside of Klamath Falls who have turned in their names or other names for toys from the Christmas ornection at the fire department pleaje stop at the office and pickup the toys and gifts. Firemen wiJ ne unable to deliver out of town addresses by Christmas and they do have the toys to be distributed. Also firemen said that any addi tional names of children needing Christmas oretents may be brought to the department. All toys and playthings have been repaired and finished. Firemen are busy making deliveries to all Darts of town and the suburban areas. Catholics to Hold Special Masses Solemn mass will be held at mid night Christmas Eve at the Sacred Heart church and low masses will be held Christmas Day at 7, 4, and 11 a. m. Klamath Temple Plans Pageant A Christmas pageant, "Wonder ful" will be presented at 7:44 p. m. Friday night at the Klamath Temple. It will be a presentation of the Christmas story in muito and pan tomime. The cast will Include 40 people, under the direction of the Rev. Hiram Brooks, and the choir will be directed by Eileen Wood ward. Sunday r-ornlng during the regu 1 a r Sunday school period, the Round-uppers will present their program of songs and recitations.
