Dec. 31 Weather and gorernment crop reporU helped to push grains lower on the board of trade today. Tha market puttered along until near tha close without much price change, but selling pressure then got the best ot prices. Early support cam from mills, reflecting better domestic flour business, and exports. Moisture In th winter wheat belt was also ex pected to aid the 1950 crop, which the department yesterday forecast as only slightly under this year. Trading became very active In the closing minutes with numerous stop-loss orders touched oft as the market plunged downward. Wheat ended 1 to S lower, March M17V-S. corn was I1,-!5, lower, March tU0-H, oau were 1T to cents lower, March 71S. rye was IV-4S lower. May U41S-V soybeans were J to J1, lower. Dec 21 Ml In the slowest trading day of the month, the stock market slipped lower today. Losses ran from fractions to more than point among th leading lames. The total volume of trading was t the rate of UOO.OOO shares for the entire day, a sharp contrast to the 2,000,000 shara days of last week. American telephone lost more than a point Directors today voted to make the third stock offering to employe of subsidiaries since the plan was authorized three years ago. At the same time A. T. T. directors authorized a new issue of debentures amounting to $-00,000,- 000. Studebaker stood out with a gain ot mora than a point while other motors remained virtually un changed. All ot the steels were fractionally lower. Superior Oil of California Jumped up 10 points to 220. Dec. 22 i Acting on the tip of a Spokane hunter, rescue units seeking to leam the fate ot 18-year-old Donald Mc Donald planned today to move into a small canyon below Black Snake ridge in the snow-covered Blue mountains. The hunter. Cecil Kenney, told the state patrol he had heard cries of help and shots coming from the canyon adjacent to the ridge where tlie Walla Walla youth disappeared a week ago.
