Roast loose (or Christmas! That
U an old. old tradition In manjr
parts of the world.
How to rout a too: Allow 1
to I1, pounds per person. Remove
all pin feathers with tip of a sharp
knife or a pair of ln. Singe
to remove any down. Wash. Dry
Season Inside wllh salt. Stulf
loosely.
Sew up with heavy thread or lace
with toothpicks and string. Tie lets
In place. Fasten wings down by
driving a long skewer through the
(nose and hooking w ings under It.
Then fasten with string.
Season skin with salt and pepper.
Prick skin thoroughly with sharp
pronged fork to let fat run out.
Place on roasting pan. Add I rup
water to pan. Place In moderate
oven 1350 degrees Ft and roast un
covered, allowing 20 to 23 minuses
per pound.
At the end of 30 minutes, remove
bird from put and pour off fat.
L Handle very carefully for the fat
Is very hot.) Return to pan. add
another cup of water and bake
another half hour. Pour off fat
again. Add another cup of water
and continue roasting until tender.

For Bride - Elect
LANGELL VALLEY A charming bridal shower was given at the
parish hall on December 15. at 8 p. m. In honor of Miss Edith Gift,
bride-elect of RusseU Walsh. The Langell Valley Women'! club was
hostess.
Holly and cedar with tall red candles were used attractively around
the large room. Each guest was presented with a corsage of holly and
cedar.
