Following the meeting there was dancing until II o'clock when a plate lunch was served. After sup per dancing was resumed until 2 o'clock. Everyone seemed to have real good time. The grange will hold their annual Christmas party today. Saturday, December 17. There will be a pro gram and treats for the children. The Happy Hour club met at the home of Thelma Butler on Tues day afternoon December 6 with 16 members and five children present After the business meeting the host ess had the members play an in teresting game, cutting a narrow ribbon down the center to see how shady a hand can get when In a hurry. Ethel Thompson completed tin stretch in the shortest time with Margaret Carter and Eunice CoKbum tying for second place. Lovely refreshments of apple dumpling and coffee were served. The next meeting will be the Christ mas party for the members and their families on the evening of De cember 30 at the grange hall. Mrs. Grace Bernard entertained at a pinochle party at the Art Len kelt home up the canyon last Fri day evening. A very enjoyable eve ning was spent Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Butler won high prise respectively having stayed at the number one table all evening. Mrs. Elizabeth Alexander won the traveling prize while Carmen Fleming and Mrs. Georgia Vincent won low prizes for the men and women. A dutch lunch was served with whipped cream on cake with marischino cherries for dessert Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Art Lenkeit Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Butler. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Alexander, Mr. and Mrs. Carmen Fleming, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Vin cent, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sanford. Mr. and Mrs. Irvin L. Faris and the host and hostess, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Bernard. The Kelly Creek PTA held a very nice meeting at the school bouse last Friday evening with a program of Interesting movies for the kids, a piano duet by the Hamp ton twins, Corere and Norene, a piano solo by Robert Faris and one by Barbara Fisher. At the business meeting plans were made for Christmas and the f rata bility of having a walk construct- Paisley Mrs. Florence Murphy and Tim Oulnee were msrrled at the Pals ley Catholic church on Saturday December 10. After a wedding breakfast givrn by the bride's sis ters at the Vernon home, the couple left on a short wedding trip. Out- of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Dick GuUiee o' Burns. Mr. Perry Smith returned from a trip to Portland on Saturday. Mrs. Zake Porter of Lakevlew Is visiting the Ray Porter family. "Red" Q ask si Is sick In the Lake view hospital. His many friends wish him a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Baglry were week-end visitors at the Murphy ranch. There was a meeting of the PTA on Wednesday afternoon, December U at the achoo!. Mrs Bell Currier Is 111 and was taken to Klamath Falls where she can be with her daughter Mrs. Riggs who Is spending the winter there. The "Story Hour Children will give a Christmas play at the school on Thursday, December 15 at 9:30 p. m. Mrs. McAui'ffe and Mrs. Irene Withers were hostesses to the Re bekah this week. Refreshments were served after the regular meet ing. A three-act comedy "A Pair of Country Kids" will be presented on Saturday evening December 17 by the Rebekah ladies. A dance will follow at the school gym. Mrs. Lynch and her fifth and sixth grade children had an Ice skating party Monday evening at Button's pond. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Risgs visited the Bemie Murphy family and Joe this week-end. Ted Newman surprised bis parents. Mr. and Mrs. Con New man last Thursday when he walked in. having arrived In the Stales a few days ago by plane from Hawaii In W hours. He has lived In Hawaii since receiving his dis charge from the army In IMS. He enlisted as an aviation mechanic in 1941. He was In the thick of the fighting In the Pacific theater hav ing fought on the Gilbert Islands and several other hot spots. Since bis discharge he has follow ed the construction business In Ha waii up until the strike a few months ago when things slowed down and he sold his trucks and shipped his car to the states. He visited In Washington before com ing on down here.
