Friends wish a speedy recovery for Richard Hoefler who has been critically in in a Klamath Falls hos pital Hoefler resides on a ranch east of Dairy. Mrs. Louise Kilgore was recently called to Ashland by the serious ill ness of her uncle Willie Plaekus who is In an Ashland hospital. His con' ditlon still remslns serious. Miss larlyne Cox. Mrs. Wslt Thompson and children, Mr. and Mrs. Rollln Redifer and chil dren. Saturday. November W. was booster night at the Westside grange hall. A nice program was arranged by the lecturer and en joyed by all present. A play named "The Lighthouse Keeper's Daugh ter" was presented by the follow ing. Everet Becraft, Dola Morris, Aria Buck. Harold Morrell and Lloyd Haskins. Two musical num bers "Girl of My Dreams" and "I Love You So Much It Hurt Me by the Buck 'no. Rich. Helen and Aria. Les Pardue sang a soU "Room Full of Rosea," and two numbers were sung by the Morris SL-ters. "Missouri Walts" and "My Adobe Hacienda." Chet Morrell read a niece on "Cooperation" and Duane Morrell read "A Boys Re marks to his Stomach." Following the program a pctluck supper and dancing were enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Peay enter tained her parents Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Hanks and family on Thanksgiving. Mr. and Mrs. R. A Buck and family enjoyed a family dinner on Thanksgiving Day with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bussey of the Vernon district. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Cox had dinner for several relatives on Thanksgiving. Among those Invited were Mr. and Mrs. Walth Thompson and children of Dry creek. Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Fenimore re turned home Tuesday alter an ex tended trip east, sight seeing and vMttng relatives. A large crowd attended the Wes Han kins charivari and shower held In Poe valley grange hall on Wed nesday evening. November 23. The community was saddened last week to learn of the death of our beloved friend ana neigruwr. Grandma CrowL as she waa com monly known. Her funeral waa held Friday at the Lakevtew chapel with Rev. Idso conducting the services. Interment was at the Westside cem etery. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dameron and children made a business trip to Alturas Monday. While they were gone they visited Hank's son and family Mr. and Mrs. Leo Albertson of Jerome, Ida. Mr. and Mrs. Loy Lamb received the sad news of the death of his sister Mrs. Gladys Reich of Dela ware, Okla. Mr. and Mrs. Jsck Davis re turned to Sntherlin. Ore, on Sun day. Me and Mm Dee Chandler and children were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Shulta on Thanks giving. Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Rentier have been spending several days on a trip to San Francisco. A number of Westsiders attended the conference held at the "Latter Day 8atnts Church" In Lakeview on Sunday. Mrs. Earl Cox and daughter have moved to Lakeview from the logging camp. Mr. Cox plans to star in camp until his loo is com' pleted. Also moving to town the past week was Mr. ana Mrs. noiiin Redifer and children. Mrs. Waino Karjala and daughter made a business trip to Lskevlew on Friday afternoon from the Ooose Lake logging camp. Keno Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Holt were milrrf to Dallas. Tney were gone two weeks. While they were away Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dav is of Sutherlin. Ore. stayed on at the ranch house. Attending a Thanksgiving dinner at the Jess Roberts' home were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Pernoll and children of Sum mer Lake and Dorothy Kendall. Tha Walter Lavton family were unusually lucky during the fall hunt ing season. They bagged tnree aeer and two elk. Freeman of Washington, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Earl Johnson and ehll dren from Ashland, Mr. and Mrs, Robert Miner of Portland and Miss Helen Corrum from Klamath Falls. A group of friends from Calvary Baptist church of Klamath Falls surprised Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Wa terhouse a day or two before Thanksgiving by bringing them nice assortment of good things to eat for Thanksgiving and future use, This seems to be becoming a custom i with them In remembering this old retired minister and wife, members of the same church Elder C. Henderson homt was the scene of a gay youngster's party November 14 when their youngest son Larry and the Carl Morehead's baby daughter celebrated their birthdays together. Larry Hender son became five years old on Nov ember M and Alene Mrtehead was one year old on November 1. The dnsen children who attended enjoy ed games and cake and Ice cream. Prises were won by Billy Mike Thompson, Boboy Morehead, Faye Brown. Anita Gall Hall, and Danny Thornton. The last regular meeting of the Dixie club was held at the home of Mrs. Dirk Fairfield. The ladlea enjoyed luncheon and then played Bingo. Wanda Johnson won high and Wanna Leather ood second high. A number of ramp people like to get together on Saturday night and cut a rug. On October 23 a dancing party waa held at the B. L. Hender son home In nonor of the return of Jim and Mary Baker to ramp. On November t a crowd gathered at the Lew Brmis home for dancing. Jive records furnished the music. Coffee and a light lunch was rerved at midnight on each occasion. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Graham of Bly called In rump on Saturday. November It. They came up to gather pine cone for Chrtstmaa decorations and Thomaa Thomson and children went with them into the woods to show them where the sugar pines sere. Afterward they had lunch and a vlrtt at the Thom son home. Mrs. Eddie Braden of Long Beach. Calif, visited at the home of her mother. Mrs. Harold Marks the week of Thanksgiving. Mr. and Mn H. 8. Bridge enjoyed an Interesting auto trip the week before Thanksgiving which took them Into California as f ar aa Wil liams and Ukiah. thence up the coast as far aa Brookings, Oregon. There they had a short visit with Mrs. Oordon Good's parents, the L. Z. Harbina. Bridge went salmon fishing and caught a 23-pound sal mon at the mouth of the Chetco river. Their visit to the ocean was memorable because the tide was at It's highest In two yeara at that time. Perfect weather waa their 11 through their trip and they re ported a very enjoyable time. Mrs. R. L. Schlotfeldt took care of the camp store In their absence. Olenn Adams la fixing up the house next to Mast's, building on a room. This Is the house formerly occupied by the Fred Peters family. Adams will be married soon and a more complete report of the event 111 appear later. L. L. Arnett. his wife and daugh ter, Virginia have moved Into the house formerly occupied by the Hank Waldrlp's. Mrs. Eleanor Thomson was to have entertained the Pinochle club at her home on November How ever that was the day her daugh ter Nancy decided to break out In mysterious rash. So at the last minute Mrs. Margaret Brown took over the entertaining dutlea at her home. Since scarlet fever haa been prevelant Nancy waa closely watched for some time but she be came entirely well in two days. The prizes were aall-plaquea made by Mrs. Thomson and a dome cro cheted by Mrs. Marks. They were won by Wanda Johnion for high score. Pearl Henderson for low score, and Dorothy Bridge for pi nochle. Three guests from the Dixie club were present. They were Wan da Johnson, ?earl Henderson, and Mary Bsker. and they received spe cial guest prizes. The dessert course served at the Mart of the meeting consisted of ipple pie and coffee. Because the last column of newt sent in by your reporter seems to have been lost In transit, we will tell here that the October meeting of the Pinochle club was held In the Scout cabin with Mrs. Ous Hall and Mrs. Leonard Bright a hoates- Prlze were won on that day by Mrs. George Rogers for high score and Mrs. Bam James for low and pinochle. On November 10 a busi ness meeting was called by the chairmen of the club. Eileen Brown and Mabel Rogers.
