Women ot St. Paula Episcopal church will again offer their line, traditional plum puddings at the annual Christinas basaar scheduled for Saturday, December the third, at the newly enlarged parish hall. Eighth and Jefferson. There will be loads ot holiday food offered including cakes, cookies. Jams and Jellies, and there will be booths tor Christmas cards and wrappings, a fish pond for the children and added entertainment for the young fry during the afternoon. Tea will be served as well as coffee during the bazaar hours and all women of the town are Invited to drop In. The Bob Lamotts are getting settled In their new home In Walla Walla and hare written that they want to express their appreciation for the many friendships they have had In Klamath Palls in the past seven years. The many social gatherings that marked their departure a few weeks ago were also greatly appreciated. "It fills us with a sense of real satisfaction." as Bob expresses It In his letter. From Oregon State comes word that Patricia McMillan, daughter of Mrs. K. L Bold, and Donna McVey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. V. McVey, were among five finalists In a contest for "Paul's Pin-Up", and were honored at the annual foresters ball, a recent event. Mr. and Mrs. Leo R. Beck received a congratulatory letter from L. K. Darlington, faculty member at Oregon State college, informing them that their son. Dick Beck, had attained a high scholastic honor, and was initiated Into Phi Eta Sigma, scholastic honor society for freshmen men. The requirements for membership include a grade point average of 15 or better, and it Is the greatest scholastic distinction a freshman can attain, as only about 3 per cent of the men in Dick's class attained the honor for last year's work. Christmas Sea Sale Under Way The 1949 Christmas Seals for the prevention and control of tuber culosis are going In the mail this week-end, thanks largely to the effi cient and conscientious help given by many volunteers and organiza tions In the city, according to Mrs. W. A. Shannon, county Seal Sale chairman. Preliminary work on personal solicitations has been done by the committee headed by Bill McKibbin. Selling special bonds to public spirited citizens have been Mrs. Bernie Rawlins, Jack Vaughn, Bob Ross, Ray Garrison, Bob Veatch, Jack . ! Insley, W. A. Shannon, J. A. Cal' noun and Jerry Olsen. The Girl Scout organization pro ' vided the services of 54 Scouts and Brownies In preparing the letters and enclosures for mailing, and the Camp Fire Girls gave the help of several troops. Much valuable time was donated by members of the Venture club and Sojourners club, the latter turning over an entire meeting to filling envelopes. The chamber of com' mere provided office space for sev eral groups of volunteer workers helping with the same task. The strong right arms of two United States marines got a good workout in transporting many heavy boxes and bundles of equipment from place to place. Sgt. Daniel Kona and Sgt. R. B. Dunkleberger pro vided the arms and received the grateful thanks of Mrs. Shannon and the TB office staff.
