Wissen boch, for seven years postor of St. Paul's Episcopal church, announced to members of his vestry and church early this week that he hod accepted the parish at Trinity church. Bend. Presbyterian Host For ' Thanksgiving Sunday, November 20. as the Sun day next before Advent, will call worshippers at the First Presbyteri an church to consider the theme. All Protes tant churches of the city are In vited by the Ministerial association to take part in the observance. Worship will be conducted by the host pastor. The sermon will be de livered by the Rev. F. C. Wissen bach, of St. Paul's Episcopal church. The music will be by the choir of the host church. The public la Invited. Lakeview Pastor At Calvary The Calvary Baptist church, T. Main and Garden, will have the Rev. Gordon C. Griffin. Lakeview. a guest speaker at both services Sunday. The weekly teachers meeting will be held Wednesday at 7:15 p. m. followed by the prayer service at S o'clock. Thanksgiving baskets will be distributed through the Training union department of the church. Schulze Topic On Benefit Of Services "Deriving the Greatest Benefit from the Church Services" will be the sermon topic of the Rev. Vic tor A. Schulze, at the Zion Luth ' eran church. 11th and High, in the regular Sunday service at 11 a. m. The Sundav school and Bible class meet at 9:45 a. m. The annual fall rally and institute for the Lutheran young people and Sunday school teachers of Southern Oregon will be held Sunday at the St. Peter's Lutheran church in Med ford. Delegates from the Zion Wal ther League youth organization and from the staff of the Zion Sunday school will attend the sessions of the rally and institute which begin with the morning service at 11 . m. The weekly calendar Includes a special service held at 10:30 a. m. on Thanksgiving Day. The chil dren's confirmation classes meet Friday afternoon at 4:15 o'clock and on Saturday morning at :30. Yule Seal Sunday In Churches Churches throughout the county will observe Christmas seal Sunday on November 20 to bring to the at tention of parishioners the Impor tance of community control of tu berculosis, according to Mrs. W. A. Shannon, county seal sale chairman. This will open the 1949 sale which will continue until Christmas, and Is to raise funds for Klamath coun try's tuberculosis prevention and health education program. Several clergymen will mention the work of the association from their pulpits Sunday and many of the churches will carry messages on special printed programs concern ing the Christmas Seal sale and Its contribution to community control of tuberculosis. Special Music Programmed At Methodist The choir at the First Methodist church, under direction of LaMarr K. Jensen, will sing the Thanks giving anthem, "Give Thanks" by Williams at the Sunday service. Hugh Paul will play for the wor ship service, presenting the Pre lude, Postlude and Offertory num bers on the organ. Series Contlnnes The Rev. Martindale Woods will continue the series of messages on tne general theme "Our Faith." The message for Sunday will be "The Christians Training Table." and deals specifically with the discip lines needed to produce a "Work man that needeth not to be ashamed." As a prologue the Rev. Woods will present an Introduction to his message entitled "Thank God I Am An American." The church is cooperating with other churches in the Ministerial as sociation in the union Thanksgiving service, which will be held in the Presbyterian church on November 1 23 with the Rev. Ward end Son ns Hixk Fhome till Peace Women To Hear Missionary The women of the Peace Memori al Presbyterian church will have a rare opportunity, through the coop ers l ion of the Presbyterian Board of Foreign Missions, when Miss Shirley Clemenson will speak Mon day evening at 7:30 p. m. This meeting has been specially planned to Include all women of the church. Miss Clemenson comes as a young returned missionary on her first fur lough. She has worked in the dual capacity of missionary and busmess woman in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Previous to her experiences In Brazil, she attended San Francisco Theological Seminary, San Anselmo. California, and graduated In 1946 with a Master of Arts degree. She also served in the rapacltv of sec retary to the treasurer of San Fran cisco Theological Seminary. This will be a program of signifi cance to all women. Mrs. Earl Sheridan will sing selected solos and Mrs. J. L. Nrndel will give the devotional Morning Services The morning worship of the Peace Memorial Presoyterlan church will hold special observance of Thanks giving, with the pastor, the Rev. Dwayne Proett, speaking on "Bene ficial Gratitude." The choir, under the direction, of Carl Hagel. will sing the anthem. "I Will Thank Thee." by Molr. Further observance of the Thanks giving festival will be held Sunday at 7:30 p. m. when the Senior West minster fellowship will have a spe cial Thanksgiving service. This service Is planned for all church people sand Is sponsored by the stew ardship commission.
