This year new materials and tools are to be used which will insure that with the completion of the visitation every family of the church will know the story of the church's work, both here and In the world field. Sixty workers are being recruited tor this work. A training session for these workers is to be conducted at the church on Tuesday evening, Novem ber 1. at 7:30. Clifford Volght is chairman of the effort. Stewardship On Sunday, October 30, the theme of the morning worship service will center on the work of a Christian steward. The pastor will offer the second In a series of sermons based on the parable of Jesus to be found in Mark 4:26-30. The general theme of the series is titled, "On Bringing the Kingdom." Inasmuch as the parable uses farm language, the sermons are titled: li "SEED", (21 "PLANTING", (3 "RISK". (4) "The Harvest." The series will be completed on Sunday, Nov ember 13. Music Music this Sunday will include a solo by Mrs. Marvin Nerseth, en titled. "Have Mercy, Lord", and an anthem by the choir, "The Lord is My Light," with an incidental solo by George Brewer. With the en largement of the choir loft, the choir now has adequate room, and it is anticipated that the excellent work already begun will continue and Increase during the year. Mr. Van Meter will tell her experiences and show pictures from China In the main auditorium of the church. On February 1 this year Mrs. Van Me ter, amimiwiued by her three chil dren left Kunming, China, where she had been before the Invasion of China by the Japanese, and to which she returned as soon after the war as she could. Before leaving Kunming, she, along with all of the other Chris tain missionaries received threaten ing letters from the communists In that city, reminding them that they were not wanted and telling them to get out of China "or else." later t second letter was received In which they were reminded of the Boxer rebellion, and stating that the gallows had already been built tor the missionaries of Kunming. The native Christian also received threatening letters. Mrs. Van Moler found, one night, a small, day old Chinese baby buy. which she took Into her home and raised. She has since adopted this small boy, and he will accompany her on her trip to this city. Missionary Installation Meet Held Seventy-five women gathered at the First Baptist church recently for Installation services of the Wom en's Missionary union. Those who participated were of ficers of the Women's Missionary society, circle officers and chair men, and counsellors and officers of various auxiliaries of the group. Among the six WMS circles is a business women's group which meet In the evening and to which Interested business women are in vited. Decorations The stress in decorations was the world scope of missions. Mrs. S. L.
