Our "Woman of the Weak" Is well qualified to talk on these subject. Eh waa born In Vienna. Austria, and began studying language and dancing at an early age in Swltser land and Prance. In 1831 she came to the United States and entered tha College of the Pacific In Stock ton, Calif, and later studied dancing at Mill college In Oakland. Eh returned to Europe In 193 to atudy the trend of the dance, and remained there until after the war. Mrs. Uherek I making plans f or classes In creative dancing and she also pln to supervise a children' player group, which is, as she ex plains, a spontaneous pantomine of fairy tale by youngsters. Mrs. Lydia Melliand. daughter ol Mr. and Mrs. Richard Von Berth elsdorf of this city became the bride of Mr. Hugh M. Colopy of Akron, Ohio. The ceremony was read by Msgr. Edward B. Conry in St. Vincent's church on October 8. Judge Stephen C. Colopy and Mrs. Lucille Horning of Silver Lake. Ohio attended the couple. A breakfast was served in the Mayflower hotel for members of the bridal party and Immediate fami lies, following the ceremony. The newlyweds motored to Hot Spring. Pinochle Played The Friendship club met Wednes day evening, October 12 at the home of Ruth Stanley. 1130 Lincoln, and the hostesses were Helen Crapo and Mrs. Penrod. After the business meeting auction and pinochle were played, and at auction Stella Dryden held high score, Josephine Chancy low. In pinchole Susie New received the award for high score. Refreshments were served by the hostesses following cards. A. Poole on Summers lane and In addition to twenty members there were four visitors: Mrs. E. M. Chilcote. Mrs. Lester Wlshard. Mrs. Lee McBrlde Jr. and MrsJllchard Low. Mrs. L. A. Brannon led the devotions and Mrs. A. W. Cowman had cahrge of the lesson, while Mrs. D. R- Stebblns presided over the business session. The hostess in November will be Mrs. Lee McBrlde Sr. and she will be assisted by Mrs. Frank Steele. Mrs. Dexter Elliott waa hostess to Esther circle, and seventeen members and four guests. Mrs Vlahos. Mrs. Blana. Mrs. Hickman and Mrs. Harper, attended. Dessert was served by the hostess, and Mrs. Joe Branhall later presided over the business session, Mrs. Bruce Blnk ley led the devotions, taking a her theme "Light of the World." Mrs. Earl Redman was appointed flower chairman for November and Mrs. Bruce Binkely and Miriam Smyth will serve on the reception committee. Mrs. Fred Bechtel will be chairman for the next general meeting. Martha circle met at the home of Mrs. L. J. Blink and members of Mary circle were guest for the afternoon. The luncheon served at 1:30 In cluded Cornish meat pasties and Scotch short-bread made by old world recipes. The two circle held separate business meetings then re convened for the devotions, led by Mrs. W. W. Wood, and the lesson, given by Mrs. John Rlach. Recital Planned Rhoda Ann Brown will present her music students In an unusual form of recital at 7 o'clock. Monday evening. October 24, at the roller skating rink. Parent and friend are cordially Invited to the recital which will close with a skating party for the youngsters. The first part of the program will be devoted to piano selections. The second part will consist of various rhythmn activities Illustrating the part rhythmn plays In musical training. It will also Include mem ory work and examples of harmonic structure.
