Ralph Richard Newell, '0. plead
ed guilty to petty larceny yesterday
afternoon In Justice court and was
erntenced to 30 days in the county
jail.
Newell also paid a $50 fine. He
waa accused of stealing I1M from
the till of a local restaurant while 1
employed aa a cook.

been reached to call off contest of
a divorce action brought by Regis
T. de Maleissye. French army vet

nell Charlott Fromm de Maleissye.
The divorce proceeding was to
have begun today in circuit court,
but In its stead de Maleissye ap
peared to seek a default decree.
After perfunctory testimony on
his part, a decree was withheld ,
pending satisfaction of terms of the i

pany. Bob Clammer reported briefly on
the club's visit to the Med ford 20-30
group last Tuesday.
The annual 20-30 Halloween party

discussed. Eddie Burke and Wally

An indictment against Louis T.
Murphy. 21, returned secretly by
me grand jury last April, will be
resubmitted to the grand jury be
cause of a clerical error.
Murphy was indicted for larceny
oy embezzlement, accused of pass
ing bad checks by representing
himself to be timekeeper of the
Arundel Construction company. He
was taken into custody recently in
Omaha, Neb.
In circuit court this morning
Deputy District Attorney Ben God-
dard moved to have the Indictment
resubmitted to the grand Jury and
the motion was granted by Circuit
Judge David R. Vandenberg.
E. E. Driscoll, attorney for Mur
phy, asked to have his client's bail
requirement reduced from $2500 to
$1500 but Judge Vandenberg with
held action on that request.
Murphy la held in the county

Crater Gets
Chilly 13
The mercury hit a seasonal low
of 13 above zero In Crater Lake
national park here this morning,
second lowest In the records of the
park for the month of October. It
hit 10 above once during tne month.

A light skiff of snow fell In the
park Tuesday but a high wind
whipped the area Tuesday night.
Roads are In good shape and
chains are not required, rangers
said. There Is no skiing as yet but
tourist travel Is holding up well for
the month.
