Mr. and Mrs. Fred OUtner and son Billie of Bend were week-end visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Keppers and son and went hunting. Mr. and Mrs. George Pasey are the parents of a baby girl born Sep tember 30 at the St. Charles hos pital In Bend. The baby has been named Janey Denlse and weighed 6 pounds 9 ounces. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Emery of Tacoma, Wash, were visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Emery and family this week-end. Mr. Ralph Guthrie o f Klamath Falls was a recent visitor at the home of his nephew and family Mr. and Mrs. Pete Slmpkins and family. Recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Shields, and family were Mr. Jack Shields and Mr. Warthen of Rosebunr. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Emery and f amllr werw visitinir in Klamath Marsh at the home of Mr. Everett ' Emery. They reported that Mr. Ev- erett Emery had killed a 4-polnt 1 doe. Mrs. Orville Fuller has been visit- ' lng In Washington with relatives. Mr. Orville Fuller went after her Friday Oct. 6. They returned home on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Elkins and family were week-end visitors at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. I Z. D. Banks. 1 Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Gruni of ! Clatskante were visiting In Shevlin over the week-end with relatives. Recent visitors at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. M elvin Freeman and family and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Stinley and family were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mochenhaupt and Mr. Eugene Webb, Mr. and Mrs. Vera ' Westover and their daughter and son-in-law, all of Portland and Mr. Thomas LaBrte and Mr. Joe Thorn- ' as of Roseburg and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Myers and son of Bend. All , are here hunting. Mrs. Jim Emery and Mrs. Harry Stingley and Danna spent Monday ; visiting in Silver Lake with rela tives. Nearly everyone seems to be run ning around with red hats these days. Many have reported good luck In bagging their deer. The snow that fell Thursday was welcomed by all the hunters. The school children had a two day vacation while teachers institute was being held In Klamath Falls. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Baker went dow n Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Emery and family went to Silver Lake Wednes day evening to attend a reunion for the Emerys which was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Emery. Mrs. O e o r g e Posey returned home from the hospital with her new daughter Friday. September 30. Mr. Orville Bennett returned home from the Lumberman's hospi tal In Bend where he has been a patient. Mr. and Mrs.- Sam Burgess went to Tumalo Wednesday where they attended funeral services for Mr. Sam Burgess' mother. Mrs. Rosan na Scoggtn. who died suddenly at Lebanon. Dorris October If Is the date set for the Venison feed to be enjoyed by the Sky riders of Butte Valley. Mrs. Les Chase will furnish the venison. The Lions club has planned an annual Halloween party. The affair will be held at the city hall, Oc tober 31. The Lions club will turkey shoot on Thanksgiving. Dr. Drader has been appointed deputy coroner. Mr. and Mrs. Woodle Wilson have been In Portland for the past tew days where Mrs. .Wilson consulted a doctor. Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Branham soent Sturday evening on Parker ML. !
