He had been In the service four years. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Severln re turned from the Willamette valley Wednesday. Paisley ha been full of deer hunters this week. A food many deer hare been killed and so far no serious accident. Mr. and Mrs. William Qrtxel of Bummer Lake were shopping in Paisley Saturday. Mr. Burgess and Mr. Stafford of Eugene visited at the home of Ray Cannon and enjoyed the hunting season. Mrs. Edna Miller returned this week from Portland and Medford. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Powler. and daughter Kay. sf Ashland visited relatives here over the week-end. He was one of the lucky hunters who bagged a buck. Ed Vernon of Klamath Palls was among the deer hunters this week. Mr. and Mrs. Seals of Eugene were among the hunters this week. Mrs. Seals will be remembered a Vera Henderson, who with her par ent. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Henderson, attended school here when she was a amall girl. She saw many change in Paisley. Monday was freshman initiation and a comic parade down Main street was held with the freshman hauling the seniors. Johnston live with Johnston's fa ther, Lee Johnston. When she left here a little dirt road turned west at their home and at the corner where Ernest Robnett now lives tt ! turned south stain. That was the : highway. The Johnston home was ' Mason's ranchhouse and he owned nearly all the properly south of the state line from the foot mils to the ! lake. The homestead site Is In the Heart Mountain division of the Shoshone River Irrigation project near Cody. Wyo, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Hallet from Oakland. Calif, arrived a few days ago to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Jim my Cooper and Mr. and Mrs. John PenhaU. Jimmy Cooper and fami ly have beeu away on a vacation to Oakland and up the coast unbe known to the Hallet s. However, the Cooper returned Tuesday while the Hallet a were still here and got to visit with them. Among the frraks in the deer family can be listed the buck that was shot without aiming by Henry Cook, veteran hunter of New Pme Creek. The buck which was appar ently an old one but rather small, had a couple of rosettes for antlers. The rosettes which were supposed to be antlers stood about 4 Inches high, resembling somewhat a cou ple of pronged, flat summer squash es with six stubby points. Cook was hunting on the Kelly Creek Summit early the opening morning and the heedless animal came up to where he was sitting on a ledge not more than 10 feet away. It was thus he was able to Identify the deer a a buck. He just pointed the gun from his waist and fired. The deer went Camp 4 W The regular PTA meeting was held September at the commu nity hall.
