Apple Ideas October means lots of good ap plet, so Mitt look el thu recip: Applesauce Pudding (t servmgsi Three cups applesauce. 1.3 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind. 1 teaspoon lemon Juice, 1 tea spoon vanilla extract, J egg yolks, 3 egg whites, teasoon salt, 1 'J cup sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, ( maraschino cherries. Mix together applesauce. 1 3 cup sugar, grated lemon rind, lemon Junce and 1 teaspoon vanilla ex tract. Beat egg yolks into apple sauce mixture. Pour Into heat re sistant glass square cake dish, eight-inch sue. Beat egg whites until fluffy; add salt and beat until stiff but not dry. Gradually beat In 11 cup sugar until egg whites stand In peaks; beat In 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Arrange this meringue In nine mounds on top of applesauce mix ture In square cake dish. Bake in slow oven. (300 deg. F) for about 15 minutes or until meringue is slight ly browned. Garnish with mar aschino cherries. Sen t either hot or cold. Stork Shower MALIN Mrs. Alba Kniskern was guest of honor last Sunday evening at a stork shower given at the home of Mrs. Laddie Rajnus. Co-hostesses for the affair were, Mrs. K. C. Wilson, Mrs. Arnold Scott and Mrs. Paul Kruger. Games were played during the evening after which the honor guest opened her many lovely gilt packages. The guests were served delicious refreshments from a beautifully arranged table, the centerpiece being a miniature cradle with two small dolls: pink and blue streamers attached to the cradle marked the guest places at the table. Wilson, Needlework Club PORT KLAMATH The Port Klamath Sewing club was enter tained at the home of Mrs. Ouss Psge on Thursday afternoon. Sep tember 39th, with all members of the group and two special guests present. The afternoon was spent In needlework and visiting. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Psge to those present, includ ing Mrs. Jack B. Thomas. Mrs. Wil liam C. Martin, Mrs. William Zum brun, Mrs. Lynn Webb. Mrs. Wtl lism Brewer and daughter Darla Dee, erfd the two special guests of the afternoon. Mrs. Hsmilton and Mrs. Fox. both of Bandon, Ore, who are house guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Webb at the Hate fish hatchery. Mrs. Hsmilton Is Mrs. Webb's mother. Mrs. William Brewer will be host ess to the women at the next regu lar meeting of the sewing club, at the Darling-Brewer ranch on Thurs day afternoon. October 13th. Thimble Club The Thimble club of Neighbors of Woodcraft met at the home of Ida Mochettax, on Wednesday evening September 38. and after the busi ness meeting pinochle and whist were played. At pinochle Bertha Moss held high score, Trebble P. Cammeniad low: In whist, high score went to Neva Hayes and low to Nicole Addle. Refreshments were served later in the evening by the hostess. The next meeting will be Thursday Oc tober 13. and the club will meet for luncheon with Alta Clark, 1937 Academy. BPW Meet MERRILL Mrs. Ebba Reno. Klamath Palls school teacher, was the speaker at a dinner meeting of the Merrill Busmess and Profes sional Women In the recreation hall Wednesday evening. Mrs. Reno gave an Interesting account of her trevels around the United States. Rosella Richardson was in charge of the program and President Laura Barr presided at the meeting. Prise winners for the evening were Bessie West and Mrs. C. Loveness. Bouquets of fall flowers were cen tered on the tables and Vernoghn Estes was In charge of decorations.
