She has re cently studied at Southern Oregon college. Mrs. Marian Sevruk, a graduate of the College of St. Scho lastira, Duluth, Minn, with a bache lor of science degree and a major In foods and nutrition, will teach a parttime course In home economics for girls. Mrs. Blanche Montgomery" sixth grade geography class la taking a "study trip" from Washington. DC to Sacramento. Calif, as a prelimi nary to the study of the western states. Sevruk's seventh and eighth grade general science class la tak Ing advantage of the beautiful weather in the study of local trees, shrubs and flowers adjacent to the school grounds. They plan on using this Inlormauon by actually plant ing shrubs and beautifying the school area. This further improve ment follows the building of cement walks that was done last year. Mrs. Anna O. Wolford, former postmaster and long-time resident of Sprague River, visited friends i here here Saturday. She now lives i In shland. Mrs. Ivan Pankey is enjoying a visit with her sister, Mrs. Jenkins, from Belllngham. Wash. Calif, to Prlneville last week-end. Mrs. Clino Roper has returned to her home after spending the past month with her sister in California. Word has been received here of the marriage of William Wolford September 3. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Zehe visited with her mother, Mrs. Oodaha of Beatty Sunday. , Mr. and Mrs. Lucky Lopes of Quincy, Calif, spent the week-end here looking after their property and visiting friends. They moved to Quincy about a month ago. J Clifford Welch has been helping in the Dairy store for the past few days. Melda Chandler left for college in New burg Monday. Rev. and Mrs. Everet Tuning and family have returned to the Friends ; enure h after a years absence spent in Marian. Their oldest daughter, Jo Anne, remained in Marian to at tend high school.
