Golden previously had been un beaten in the double elimination tournament, but Fort Wayne had lost one game. Another loss last night would have ousted Fort Wayne. This is one of the best baseball town for It sl I have ever seen and our ballplayer, coming from all over the country, have found nothing but friends here in Klamath Falls. We've appreciated It and tried to make our gratitude felt by playing to the best of our ability every minute of every game. The owner of the club have given the players and myself every consideration. The Far West league this season has been fast. I've been In baseball a long time and know that the brand ot game played by most of the clubs ot this league this summer ha been better than what I ordinarily considered class D. Several of the member of the Gems club will move on Into a higher classification next season and may never play In Klamath Fall again. I hope that before too long the tana here will be able to spot their names in box scores of the high minor and major leagues. Don McShane. a scout for the Philadelphia Phillies. Is with the club now and he assures me he has some very good recommen dations to make of a number ot our 1949 Gems. Tonight we start the Far West league playoff series and I hope the fan ot Klamath Falls will turn out to give the Orms a little added support and push to carry them through. Without this seem ing an alibi, our club will be a little weaker for the playoff's than tor the last few weeks ot the regular season.
