Bill Meade and Victor O'Neill with Harry Utlev of Lakevlew scooted off to tht hinderlanda recently to do om antelope hunting. They were lucky to be among those huntera drawn to obtain antelope licensee and good shots to each eecure one of those flretrd footed animals. They got their game on the first of their trip which lead them to Lakevlew, Hart mountain. Roaring springs, FTench glen, and Burns. More trophies for the mantel I The flower show given at Fremont school yesterday was a lovely affair which featured many Interesting flower species and arrange ments and incidentally a good deal of hard work on both the part of those entering the show and the committee. Congratulations for the success of the show go to Mrs. Hugh O'Connor and her committee which worked weeks In advance and all day of the show preparing for It. Members of the Klamath Art Workshop at OTI had quite an outing last Sunday. First they had a horseback ride, then a breakfast at the Charlie Read ranch, then they were guests at the Chet Barton 'Black and White" ranch, after which Mrs. Sheldon Brumbaugh held an open house for them! Aside for the social gatherings, were found at their homes over the week-end covered with paint, silk screening. Recent visitors in this city were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McCulloch who spent 10 days here with Mrs. McCullochs aunt and uncle. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Martin. The McCullochs, former residents of this city, now live In San Carlos. Back to their home In Klamath again after a year in Redding. Calif, are Mr. and Mrs. John Shaw, Betty and Susanne. and friends here are happy to welcome them back. The Shaws have purchased the home of Dr. Charles Rugh on Washington street and plan to remain here. Dr. and Mrs. Ray W. Oldenburg and daughters. Jean Rae and Diane, have Just returned from a 13.000 mile trip which took them to Halifax. Nova Scotia. On their all summer trip they stopped in Colorado. Chicago. Detroit, Niagara Palls and Montreal. Canada, where they remained one month while Jean Rae recovered from surgery. In that city, Dr. Oldenburg visited the surgeries of the Royal Victoria hospital and the well-known Neurological institute, and In Halifax he spent some time visiting the new Victoria General hospital While tn Nova Scotia they were the guests of Mrs. Oldenburg's mother, Mrs. George Banks, and her sisters, for three weeks. On the trip back they viewed the South Dakota Bad Lands, the Black Hills and the Rushmore Memorial and then they went to Wausau. Wis. where they visited several days with Mr. and Mrs. J. Miller Bibcock, who was chief of construction at the Marine Barracks here during the war. Another former resident who has returned for a visit Is Mrs. Lyn Zimmerman. Mrs. Zimmerman, with friend. Miss Opal Hayes. Ii visiting here with her daughter, Mrs. Robert Porter. At present the guests and their hostess are at the Lake o' the Woods. The latest trend In social notes seems to be the activities of grandmothers 1 A former Klamath resident, Mrs. T. W. O'Brien, has written a book entitled. -Whisp of Straw." which describes the life of a Swedish community In Minnesota. According to reports the book concerns "family album" type life In the early days. Mrs. O'Brien la the mother of Mrs. K. R. Burritt of this city and the grandmother of Carol and Bill Burritt. By the way, the book la due for publication early In the fall. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Owens and family are busy taking a vacation at present. They are on their way now to Ocean Park and Portland for a brief outing before school starts. Son Jim plans to leave next month for the University of Oregon. , Home for a few days to Mrs. C. F. Alexander (Nan Ooeller). Nan and friends are vacationing at the Lake o the Woods. Present plans scheduled a return trip to Panama the fifth of September. Others who have returned to Klamath for a vacation are Mr. and Mrs. D. E- Alexander and son. Derruelle. who are now at their Rock creek ranch home. Tht Alexanders are former residents of this ; city. They now make their home Friends In Klamath Falls have been receiving letters from Mrs. Buford Boyd, a former resident of this city. Mrs. Boyd, with their even-year -old son, Oary, joined Buford In Turkey tn June. Buford la an army Instructor tn a Turkish military school In CankirL The Boyds, according to reports, are enjoying life In Turkey, which they find la a land of contrast between the new and the old. Callahan In Hlldbrande August 31. Members of the family present I. MARRIED tomorrow will be Helen Wright, daughter of Mr. ond Mrs. E. W. Wright, ond Clifton Lacy, son of Mrs. Elsie Locy of Vancouver, Wosh. The rites will be read of 2 a m., Sunday afternoon, Jones-Miller.
