M.819.00O ei.7ss.ooo 63.934.000 ALL GRAINS MOVE HIGHER CHICAGO. Aug. 20 (Av With soybeans setting the pace, prices of all commodities moved higher on the board of trade today. Soybeans soared into new seasonal high territory on grains which extended to around 5 cents at times. Dealings were active. . , Aside from soybeans, which were firm from the start, the market got olf on a weak tone. But late In the session trading picked up and prices pushed ahead a couple ot cents in major grains. A good deal of covering by local traders who had gone short earlier In the session helped soybeans. Wheat closed 2 to S cents higher. September WOC.-.. corn was V-1H higher. September SlH-H. oats were -S higher. September ee rye was l-l'i higher. September $IM. soybeans were JU-V1. higher. Aug. 20 Hogs and cattle were quoted nominally steady today. There were no sheep offered for sale. The hog market suffered a couple of sharp declines this week, but managed to recover some of the lost ground. More young pigs are now arriving as the autumn season ap proaches. Sows comprised only SO per cent of the run, 10 per cent less than in the previous week. Butcher hogs ended the week 75 cents to $230 lower, light weights scaling less than 180 pounds taking the worst beating. Sows closed steady to SO cents lower, helped by a pick-up to lard and other fats and oils prices. Cattle receipts during the first three days ot the week were among the largest for any comparable period in the last two years. Ar rivals fell off later In the week and the market made some price re covery. Cho' steers held steady. Others, as well as all grades of heifers, lost SO cents to 11.50. Sheep receipts here practically doubled this vreek over the pre vious week. Even so. slaughter lambs grading good and choice close SO cents to Sl-00 higher. Between 25 and 30 riders are ex pected to make the trek this year which will carry them on a five day ride through the barkroads and hill country to Lakeview via Dog lake.
