Ail. 11 (P) Ford workers In Michigan voted over whelmingly to strike It necessary to get pensions, health, benefits and a wage Increase. Virtually complete returns from a strike election supervised by the state showed today the CIO United Auto Workers won strike authority by a seven to one vote. The state labor medistlon board announced the tabulation as fol lows: 60.588 yes; (710 no. The board said 219 ballots were Invalidated and 403 challenged. 6U11 to be counted were about 1800 ballots being brought by state police irom the Iron Mountain plant. One well Is down 5200 feet and .the plan is to take It to 7000. Steam Plant Bids Due The Klamath Palls office of the bureau ot reclamation have re ceived word from the Sacramento office that opening of bids for the construction of the bureau's small steam plant at the former naval air base Is scheduled tor Wednes day. August IT, at J p. m. Opening ot the bids, originally set for August 3. was postponed be cause the local office felt that con tractors hsd not had sufficient notification. The Klamath bureau office asked the main office In Sacramento for the change In dates. FUNNY BUSINESS Merrill To Get Movie Showings MERRILL. Aug. 11 Merrill is to have four movie showings a week according to an announcement from Mr. and Mrs. Oeorge Pullerton who are starting the new enterprise.
