June 71 tP Wheat fell back on the board of trade today, givln- up the market'! leadership to corn The latter grain moved ahead tn titly brisk trade following an agriculture department forecast ot a whopping big pig crop this year. Some telling In wheat represented profit-taking by longs. In part, the lessened enthusiasm for wheat was based on a report from Kansas Stat college agricultural experts that damaee to the wheat crop has not been as great as some crop observers have asserted. The pig crop forecast caused some selling In lard, but tins was partly offset by trade advices that Mexico was In the market for 3300 -000 pounds of American lard. Rye scored fair gains, soybeans were ahead most of the day and oau were unable to do anything. Wheat closed -lS lower. July $1.99-. corn was 1 to 1T. higher. July 81J31-H. oats were W-S higher. July 60V rye was IV. 1 higher, July 81.41 soybeans were S lower to 1 cent higher. July 82 J4-2-34 . and lard was unchanged to 10 cents a hundred pounds lower. July $11.30. June 23 The stock market moved Into lower price ground early today and stayed there throughout the session. Lots ranged from fractions to 'around a point. Numerous stocks, t th same time, failed to appear cn the ticker Up at all or inched ahead. i The market opened without a con clusive trend but almost Immediately started tilting lower. The decline was soon checked and very faint signs of a comeback showed up here and there. Then was no urgency to the buy In; or selling.
