SEATTLE, June 10 (A't Like a bus
trip to Alaska? The service Is avail
able up the Alaska highway now.
Northwest Greyhound Lines, In a
letter to its agents, suggests, how
ever that travelers be advised not
to wear their best clothes.
A Northwest Oreyhound official
explained tonight that the line docs
not operate to Alaska: It only sells
ticket for the trip. Orcyhound buses
carry passengers to Eastport. Idaho.

Firemen apeM 10 minutes chasing
a fire before they put It out last
night. They made It on the fourth
try.
The fire was In an empty freight
car on an Illinois Central train.
By the time the fire engine got to
an Intersection where the train
had been, it had moved on.
The firemen backtracked a block,
sped two blocks parallel to the
tracks, uud dashed down another
side street to the railroad Inter
section. By Uie time they got there, the
burning car had passed that point.
They made two more similar
trls before they caught up with
the fire.
The train's crew, meanwhile,
knew of the blase, but didn't know
the fire engine was chasing the
tram. They had kept the train
moving, looking for aide street
with a fire hydrant.
The freight car's aides were
i burned up. The firemen were a
