II PACE All Camp Fire Oirls, Blue Birds. And Horizon club girls are urged to register lor attendance at Camp Esther Applegate. The dates for camp are July 11 to August 1, with three one-week sessions on the pro gram. Blue Birds may attend the final session, July 25 to August 1. Olrls who wish to have their choice of sessions or camp mates should register at the Camp Fire office as soon as possible. Horizon club girls who are In terested In being junior counselors at camp are requested to apply at the Camp Fire office during this week. Two weeks of camp activities are planned for Camp Fire Olrls and Blue Birds at Moore park. The dates of the sessions are June 28 to July 2, and July & to July 9. Activities will include hiking, out door cooking, construction, of a nature trail, singing and handicraft. The girls will be taken to the park by a special bus at about 0:15 each morning and returned at 3:30 In the afternoon. The fee of $1.50 a week will cover transportation, craft supplies and milk for lunch. Registration for day camp is still open at the Camp Fire office. Klafalore Camp Fire The Klafalore group of Roosevelt school met at the home of their leader, Mrs. Patterson. We sang songs and discussed plans for out play. Refreshments were served and we all had a wonderful time. Vir ginia Denton was with us and we enjoyed having her very much. Shirley Davis, Scribe. Tanda The Tanda Camp Fire Girls had a pirate party for the Oirls Scout troop 33 at the Camp Fire house on Saturday. Pirate games were Girls Work On i Summer Camp! Camp Esther Applegate, Lake a' Woods, Jointly owned by Klamath Camp Fire Olrls and Olrl Sonuts, was the scene of much activity Bun day, June 8. A crew of 30 Camp Fire and Olrl Scout dads and other Interested men constructed a new pump house with concrete bases for the new pump and electrical unit. The site for a new shower house was cleared and a concrete base poured for the boil er. In addition to the work on the new buildings, a large quantity of firewood was cut with a power saw and construction of a new road through camp was gotten under way. i A hot meal was served the work men at noon by the Camp Fire and Olrl Scout leaders, who bIso served sandwiches and coffee to the work ers before they left for home In the late afternoon. Two trained Red Cross live savers spent the after noon on the waterfront to watch the children who accompanied their parents while they swam. The date of the next work party is Sunday. June 13. Benedetto Croce Refuses Honors ROME, June 9 (P) Benedetto Croce, noted 82-year-old philoso pher, was reported Tuesday to have refused a life senatorshlp. The new constitution of the Italian republic empowers President Luigi Elnaudi to name five outstanding i Italians to such posts of honor. Dispatches from Naples said Croce, who recently resigned as president ot the liberal party, wrote Elnaudi there was a possibility of his "again desiring to enter politics within a few years."
