LaForge. highway engineer, federal secondary roads, state highway commission, advised the Sacramento Valley high way committee at the recent state chamber council meeting In Sacra mento, "For the 19 counties, the federal aid secondary funds available for the three-year program total $5,480,393." LaForge told the committee. "Many of the counties are augmenting their FAS funds with state-appropriated postwar unemployment and con struction funds, bringing estimated cost of all counties' programs to $7,S63,0O0. They l.ave programmed 60 projects Involving 32 bridges and 28 road projects with a net length of approximately 207 miles, j "These Sacramento valley counties have 1,323 miles of FAS routes, which are financed with county funds. These, therefore, are not list ed here. ' "Eleven bridges and 90 miles of highways In seven projects are com plete. Eight road projects, totaling 46 miles, and IS bridges are under construction. Sixty-nine miles In 13 road projects, and six bridge proj ects, are In the planning stages." .
