JUNE 2, U Lutheran Meeting Held In Klamath The iccoiid annual Lutheran Ladle Aid conference of Southern Oregon and Northern California wa held on May ;u at me ion Lutheran church. Delegates to the conference were registered from Dunsmulr, Grant Pass, Medford, Ashland and Klamath Falls, with the largest number, SO delegates, from St. Peter Lutheran Ladle Aid of Medford. The (csslons began with the morning worship service. In which Victor A. Schiilw. pastor of Zlon congregation addressed a capacity attendance. A fellowship dinner and program was provided for an teie- ates and guests at noon by the Zlon Ladles Aid, with 120 persons In attendance. Mrs. W. Buttcnhoff, Portland, district president of the Oregon Lutheran women's mlsslon ' ary league, addressed the gathering at the fellowship dinner, speaking on the topic "The vital need of our I work for the church and the world." 1 The business sessions of the con ference were held In the afternoon I at 3 o'clock. A chosen representative from each women's organization presented a panel discussion on the (topic "The activities of our women 'organizations." The annual election J of officers was held. Mrs. E. Gueus ,laff, Medford was reelected presl dent; Mrs. H. Peuick, Klamath J Falls, was chosen as vice president; ,Mrs. H. Ludwig, Grants Pass, secre 'tary: Mrs. L. Swenson, Ashland, as treasurer, and Victor A. SchuUw, ' Klamath Falls, as pastoral adviser. The sessions closed with a short vesper service led by the Rev. Harry H. Young, pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran church, Medford. Festival Film Colored movies of the Junior Rose Festival in Portland were shown at Thursday's luncheon of Che Soroptlmist club of Klamath ...Jails with Mrs. Arthur Reinhart tommentlng on the film during the ahowlng. . The movie followed a business meeting at which ttae it was an nounced that the tenth anniversary of the club would be observed with a dinner at 6:30 o'clock in the Peli can cafe dining room and It was hoped the charter president, Mrs. i F. W. Bertram, would be present , at that time. Mrs, Bertram is now i living In Oaklurd, Calif. There 'will be Installation of new officers. J Also Invited to the anniversary 'dinner is Claire Nichols of Tacoma, Wash., regional director of Soropti mlst. There will be no luncheon ', meeting next Thursday, i Plans for the tie sale were dis 'eussed and the date set for Satur Jday, June 12 a week before Fa rther' Day. Proceeds from the sale will go to the club's project for Jd to minor girls in Klamath , county. It was voted to donate $25 to ward sending one of two Klamath ' Onion high school girls to Girls State, sponsored by the American Legion auxiliary June 14 to 21. Two girls have been selected by the KUHS faculty, Marjorie Robinson and Eyrie Hazzard. Mrs. Hal Ogle presented the proposition to the elub. Present were Betty Lee Daily, Lorraine Heath, Mrs. Harold Eit trelm Jr.. Mrs. Ted Nancarrow. Frances Balin. Mrs. Jack Taylor, Mrs. Edwin Briscoe, Lona Martin. Mrs. Clifford Clayton. Mrs. Frank Hall. Mrs. John Fee back. Mrs. Leonard P. Michaud, Doris Daniel, Mrs. Cornett. Sylvia Knox. Lois Rumer and the hostess. Happy Hour The Happy Hour club met Tues day afternoon at the home of Mrs. Frank Ira White. 79 Pine street The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. H. J. Savidge on Lakeshore drive. Present at the club meeting were Mrs. George Blehn. Mrs. Sydney Evans, Mrs. Walter Cofer. Mrs. J. H. Hamilton. Mrs. H. J. Savidge, Mrs. Harry Richardson, Mrs. R. G. Motschenbacher. Balloons were favors, and guests enjoyed games. Mrs. Myrtle Enders assisted Mrs. Lloyd. Final Session The final meeting of the local Council of Church Women until September was held last Monday in the parlors of the First Methodist church, with Mrs. John C. Miller, president, In charge. Mrs. S. D. Earhart conducted de votional services and Mrs. Kenneth Lambie had charge of the program which included the showing of in teresting slides of migrant camp In Oregon and elsewhere. Explanation of the work of Chris tian men and women in the camps was given oy Cecil itoiienrjorn, Klamath county director of the YMCA. At the close. Mrs. Lambie presented a play, the locale of which was any migrant camp and a de piction of the life of the women and children In the camp. Those In the cast were Mrs, C. A. Revell as Lixzie Jones"; Mrs. Kenneth Lam bie as "Tommy"; Mrs. H. O. Cald well as "Mary"; Mrs. Ben Peter as "Mrs. Green": Mrs. H. S. Stone, Mrs. Gray ": Mrs. Beverly Coyne as "Lucy": Mrs. Godfrey Matthews as "Mrs. Smith," and Mrs. T. r. Earhart as "Mrs. O'Conner." The play was well done and It was sug gested that the cast present It in the various churches of the city In aid of funds for Christian work in Oregon migrant camps.
