Wrap scissors in waxed paper to keep them from rusting in damp weather. i milium iL 101 o YA Hospital Here To Face Toward Shasta PORTLAND, May 38 m Klam ath Falls Veterans hospital will be designed to give a maximum view of the valley and Mount Shasta, Hollis Johnston of (he architectural firm planning the structure, said Thursday. Approval of preliminary drawings was reported yesterday and the firm now is going ahead with de tailed plans. Johnston said the building Is to be on a side hill and have a height equivalent to five stories. The cen tral part will be 380 feet long ana wings of varying slses will extend out from It. The main entrance will be on the upper side and will be reached from a new road to be constructed from the Old Fort road, Johnston said. The 300-bed hospital will be for general medical and surgical care and In addition rooms will be pro vided on the top floor for 26 neuro psychopathic patients. In addition to tne main structure there will be a group of other build ings Including apartments for the medical staff, quarters for nurses and building attendants and a boiler house. Because plan drawing Is in a preliminary stage, no exterior view sketch has been prepared. Johnston said. AAF Sign-Up j Quota Cut Enlistments In the air force have been reduced greatly and placed on a quota basis effective June 1, M Sgt. John F. Rose, station com mander of the Klamath Falls army and air force recruiting station, an nounced Thursday. He urged young men contemplating enlistment in that service to make Immediate ap plication "to assure themselves a place in the air force" before cur tailment goes into effect. Oregon district has applications pending on more than twice the number of men needed to nil its June quota of 113. Sgt. Rose said, pointing out that higher recruiting headquarters will not permit quotas to be exceeded. The sergeant said the quota does not affect air force personnel re- enlisting within 90 days of date of discharge. He said that men who wish to be certain of enlistment in the air force should apply before closing time May 31, when the cur tailment will go Into effect.
