May 28 (Special) Santa Rosa's Pirates were glad to see the Klamath Falls Gems leave town today. Last night the Gems got a beautifully-pitched game from Art Mover and clubbed out a 10-3 win over the Pirates to again reduce the Santa Rosa lead in the Far West Baseball league to one game. The Gems won two In the three-game series. Mover fanned 14 and held the Pirates to four hits while his team mates were romping over four Pi rate pitchers in a barrage that was highlighted by a grand slam home run by right fielder Tom Mankey. The converted catcher's blow came In the fourth with two out. Mover, Bob Wallace and Joe Ansel mo were on the sacks. Earlier, in the very first frame, starting pitcher Mike Kanchin was sicked for a walk, hit batsman and three straight singles to give up three runs before he was yanked and lefthander Ken Boyd came in. Boyd let In a couple more runs before getting the side out. . Santa Rosa's runs came in the eecond and sixth, the first one un earned. Jim Dikes connected for hail of the Buc hits, a pair of triples. The Gems had a tough break in the seventh frame when Catcher Ralph Mohler took a pitch on the end of a finger and had to leave the game. Dick Descalso finished behind the plate. Losing pitcher Kanchin. Junior Golf Meet Slated The city recreation department and Reames Golf and Country club are cooperating In a Junior golf tournament for young golfers of Klamath Falls. The tournament will be open to all players who have not reached their 17th birthdays by wune l, Bam smith, city recreation director, said today. Competition is to be a 36-hole medal play. Winner of the tourna ment will be eligible to represent Klamath Falls at the state Junior golf tournament at Portland, June 14 and 18. Contestants are requested to register at the recreation depart ment in the city hall before June 1.
