TULELAKE, May 32 The largest
school vote ever polled was chalked
up here last night as Friday's elec
tion called tor naming two members
in Tulelake, Wlnema and Carr
schools.
Dr. C. C. Dickinson, McCloud and
George Tebbe, Yreka attorney, in
cumbents, carried In all precincts
here for the high school board. Op
ponents were Sidney O'Connor and
Ray W. Hathaway. ,
At the Carr school where one di
rector is to be elected, there ap
peared some argument might come
out of yesterday's voting.
Sam S. Wynn. a new homesteader,
reaped 6 write-In votes, but Don
Hurlburt received 5, and a Don Hul-
burt, 1. John Irving took 3 votes.
If the board decides Hurlburt and
Hurlburt are one and the same, It
will be a tie between Wynn and
Hulburt are one and the same. It
sary to hold a re-election or whether
the board can make a decision, was
not known here today. Holdovers
are Marvin Thomas and Carl Jen
sen. Doug Thomas, only one to file
for the Tulelake elementary board,
was named to that Job. Holdovers
are Don Potter and LeRoy Coyner.
At Wlnema elementary, John
Takacs was named the new board
members with a write-in vote of
34. Clarence Moore received 1 1
write-In votes. Holdovers are Bert
Johnson and Harry Mitchell.

bestos shingles and a new roof on
the Leavltt home and Is now work
ing on the Bonanza library.
Mr. and Mrs. -A. H. Johnson left
for their home at Lone Pine. Calif.,
after spending two weeks with rela
tives and friends. Mrs. Johnson's
mother, Mary J. Smith, accompa
nied them for a few weeks' visit. Mr.
and Mrs. O. C. Johnson left Monday
also, for Big Bear, Calif., to spend a
week fishing.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Ross of Kla-'
math Falls spent Wednesday wltn
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elliott
House. In the evening, Mrs. House
and Mrs. Ross visited at the Leavl't
home.

Biggest surprise was that the
county's "three nulls for three years"
road tax pnuoil. Two years ago a
similar measure was defeated three
to one. The ronu tax measure drew
4133 affirmative votes to 3414 on the
negative side.
The city's recreation levy, one and
one-half mills annually, went across
by a good margin In almost every
Klamath Falls prrrinct. The rote
was 3U63 yea, 3o:is no.
Fair margins were given the one
mill park levy, 318 yrs to 3150 no,
and the half-mill rruuent for main
tenance of l.lnkvllle cemetery, 3033
yes to 1953 no.
